“You already have a father.” My heart softened as I thought of Doctor Aldrich. My guardian angel. My Black Messiah. He was an angel sent directly from heaven by the gods. I was speechless at what he had done for me. What he was still doing for me. After resigning successfully, I returned to my apartment and packed my things in silence, not bothering to say goodbye to anyone because there was nothing here I’d miss. Later that afternoon, Elias showed up outside my building in another car. No words were exchanged, just a silent nod and a gesture toward the door. At the airport, he handed me a first-class ticket. Then he handed me another black card and told me to call the number once I had reached Night Veil Pack.
