The next morning, Bianca came downstairs, dressed and refreshed, only to find an unfamiliar woman standing in the living room.
She was young, with short hair and a strong, athletic build. Her stance was sharp, alert.
The woman turned and gave a crisp nod. “Miss North,” she greeted. “I'm L Charleston, your new bodyguard. I'll be responsible for your safety from now on.”
Bianca blinked. Then slowly, she turned toward Theo, who was lounging nearby.
“You got me a bodyguard, Theo?”
He barely looked up.
She frowned. “Why?”
He set down his coffee.
