All that remained within him was the desire to kill. He was deep in the frenzy of violence when it happened... A powerful, agonizing string of tension—a silent, visceral yank—tore through his chest. It pulled with impossible force. The red filter clouding his vision melted away. He stood motionless. The murderous rage was gone, replaced by that heavy silence and an unfamiliar, aching yearning. Then a deep, guttural sound tore through the quiet landscape. It was not his voice. It was the Fenrir—the ancient beast within him—awake for the first time in ages. It commanded in a primal growl:

Well I mean if he is a direct descendant of Fenrir himself, his power, strength, abilities or whatever you want to call them, could be near limitless and we’d never know the difference. I wasn’t sure there was a way to combat him if it came down to it. Because while that fog was present and distinctly other, it was whispering to my wolf. And what terrified me the most, she was listening.

I saw his claws come out as Archer clenched his fists and his claws started coming out too. “Perfide,” Jared said as his canines elongated and I placed my hand on his shoulder and he retracted his claws. “What?” Archer asked him as he looked at me. “It means rogue,” I said as I looked at Archer. “Are you…?” Archer began as he looked at me more intently. “We’re Enforcers or Coercitor,” I said to him and I saw the recognition in his eyes. “I thought he’s Finley’s brother,” Jared said as he folded his arms across his chest.

Lana I scream in my head as Apolliana raises her hand and pushes power into Michael and Rafel. Both males fly back as if struck and slide across the floor. Lucifer grips me tightly, but I let my power cover him until his hold begins to loosen. Unfortunately, Apolliana uses his affection for me to her advantage because I know that he’s holding back from hurting us. His eyes glow fiery as he tries to fight me without doing me any harm, but Apolliana is too powerful. As Lucifer begins to lose consciousness, I conclude that Apolliana has finally gained full control of my being.
