I shoved against his hold, body shaking, my wolf howling so loud it split my skull.
“Where?” My voice was raw, cracking. “Where is she?”
Marissa stepped forward, lips curling in something between triumph and madness. “She fell,” she said simply. “Into the water by the cliff.”
The floor fell out of me.
I didn’t wait. I didn’t even breathe. I tore free of the room, the walls of the pack house splintering as I shoved through, sprinting faster than I’d ever moved in my life. My lungs burned, my vision blurred, but I kept going, chasing the scent that had always been mine, the only anchor I had left.
