View MoreGore sighed as he sat in his office, with one hand on his desk while the other was gripping the arm of his chair.
His father, George, was lecturing him again about finding his mate or at least taking one of the single female in the pack and make her his.
Gore closed his grey eyes for a brief second, only to hear his father banging his fist on the desk.
He ran a hand through his brown hair then said, "I'm listening to you, father."
In truth, he wasn't really listening. He knew what his father was going to say.
They had the same conversation repeatedly on a daily basis. Most times, five times in a day, sometimes three.
Gore always hated these conversations with his father. They only end in a growling match or something worst.
George thought he knew best because he was the previous Alpha, claiming to regret handing down the power to his son.
"When I was eighteen, I found my mate, your mother. I should have given the power to Annie. At least she is not mateless." George said.
Gore sighed, "we both know that being an Alpha doesn't work like that. You can't give me the power."
Which was true, it didn't matter if a Were-kind was male, female or both. The fates choose who they thought was best to rule over a pack or Lore group.
"Annie doesn't even care about the pack, which is why she is living in the human world with her mate." Gore added.
George narrowed his grey eyes at his son, causing his face to wrinkle more. George was somewhere in his sixties, but acted much younger.
"Open your eyes when I'm talking to you. If you don't find a mate soon, you know they will challenge you for your position." George said.
Gore leaned back in his chair with a smirk while running a finger along his thin pink lips.
"Do you really think anyone would be stupid enough to challenge me?"
He flexed his biceps, causing his chest to move, to show off his muscles. He couldn't help doing it. He knew his strength and knew he was bigger than the other wolves in his pack.
Gore was an exceptional wolf. Only an idiot would dear to try to fight him.
"I am serious, do you really think that the pack will allow a mateless wolf to lead them any further!?" George all but yell.
Gore crossed his muscular hands over his broad chest, drawing in a breath to keep calm.
"Ok father, let me just go for one of those females that throws themselves at me, and when their real mate comes along, I will just choose another and repeat the process all over again." Gore said, waving his hand.
"Besides, you know I can't just take a random female as my mate. You know the rules. Only the one made for me can be my mate and rule by my side." He added.
George sighed. He knew Gore spoke the truth, but he was too stubborn to admit any of it.
"Do you really think that these females would be all over me if I was just a regular Werewolf and not the Alpha?" Gore questioned.
George said nothing, but Gore saw sometime flashing in his grey eyes before he finally spoke.
"Well, maybe your mate isn't born yet or is amongst another Lore. We must go in search of him or her. Whether it be a were-bear or were-cat, just find them."
Gore fought back a growl. His father was still not getting it.
"A mate should be your main priority."
Gore gritted his teeth. "Dad, my mate won't be a man! And I am still young, so I have all eternity to find my mate. Now, if you would excuse me, I have more important things to deal with, like those pack of rogues that have been trying to infiltrate our border." It took everything in him not to bark at his father.
Gore relaxed in his chair, going over the papers in front of him, trying his best to ignore his father.
He sighed after reading a few lines; it was just profiles on women his father thought were potential mates.
Gore took up a book that held the 'Rules,' going over the part about having a mate to see if he missed something.
(There are over a hundred different species of lore beings.)
Gore skipped the long list, which told him about were-cat, were-hawks, and so much more.
(A lore being can find their other half not only among their own kind but also among the other lores, or even humans.)
(It matters not of the gender, or age as long as they both are of age, 'eighteen years or older.')
(A Lore being is only aware of their mate when they are both of age, if the male or female are born, and not dead. If the other half is not yet born, he/she will have to wait until then, also until their mate is of age, then only will they recognise each other.)
Gore stopped reading at that. Sometimes the rule book made no sense. It can be very confusing, but that was all he needed.
He knew his mate was nowhere in his pack, or he would have smelt her already and he refused to take anyone that is not of his kind.
Gore stood up, throwing the papers in the bin, then he walked over to the mini fridge in his office.
He had to bend all the way down to the floor just to get a beer.
His brother, Derek, always joked that he had his own gravitational pull, because of his height; at seven feet, four inches.
Suddenly, Gore's head snapped up at the sound of distress.
It was a female screaming in pain at the top of her lungs.
The noise died down, but came again, much louder this time.
A look flashed across his diamond-shaped face, as he found it odd for anyone to be screaming out like that in the dead of night, but he knew that it only meant that vampires were on the hunt.
They are the only beings that killed without a reason, always disturbing the peace and order of things.
The scream came again.
"Forest now!" Gore mindlinked to his pack soldiers before jumping out of the window from the fifth floor, and shifting into his massive brown wolf form.
He, along with six other pack members, raced to the forest where the screams were coming from.
They watched from a distance as a man helped his crying wife give birth.
Gore sniffed the air but couldn't tell what species they were.
The woman cried out, giving one last push. The cries of the newborn soon replaced hers.
"Hand over the child!" A voice boomed.
Two men appeared out of the shadows, one of which chopped off the woman's head as she laid there, weak and helpless.
The other attacked the man, causing him to drop the new born.
Gore charged into the clearing without giving a command.
He bit through one vampire's neck just as he stabbed the man in the chest with a silvery stake.
"Please take care of our child," the man said, before collapsing beside his dead wife.
Gore growled at one of his men after hearing his thoughts, but he knew he was right.
The pack never normally interfere in a fight unless it was of own their kind or, like now, on their territory.
The wolves shifted back to their human forms upon Gore's command, with Derek holding the baby.
"What are we going to do with it?" One man asked.
"It's a female, a very loud one." Derek said.
As he looked the child over for any injuries, some of his long brown hair fell into her face, causing her to cry more. His grey eyes opened, causing him to quickly pass the baby to Gore.
Gore studied the baby, noticing that the baby had a faint red glow.
"What should we do with her?" Derek asked.
Gore rocked the baby from side to side. As soon as he did, she stop crying.
"Keep her until we can find her family." Gore grunted.
"Be nice to your sister," Horatio scolded their son Shawn, who pushed Hazel down, but picked her up and brushed off her jeans after getting into trouble.Leo snuck up behind them, jumping on Shawn's back."Hey," Shawn cried out, falling to the ground.Hazel laughed, jumping on him as well.Out of nowhere, Skylar joined the pile."Leave them, they are just playing." Scarlet stopped Horatio when he tried to get up.Their children were six years old now but acted much older."Leo reminds me of you." Horatio kissed Scarlet softly on her lips."Eww!" the quadruplets said together.Looking away from their parents, Shawn covered his eyes, while his siblings giggled.Scarlet smiled at them. "May said that Hazel looks just like my mom. And I think Leo looks like you. The only thing is, he has red hair.""Umm," was Horatio's only reply."Shawn looks like me as well, but with a little mix of your features," he said, kissing the top of her head."We sure make lovely children." Horatio kissed Scar
"Kera, are you ok?" Scarlet touched her shoulder to feel it shaking."No, my father killed my mother. He then lied that Horatio was the one who had done it. Why would he do that?" Kera cried.Horatio leaned his head to the side. "Matthew killed Catherine? I thought-" he paused to think about it."He told me she went out to seek some information. When your mother didn't return, he went to look for her, then later came back saying she was dead." Horatio placed a hand on her shoulder."I'm sorry that this happened to you, and I never had a hand in the death of your mother."Kera wiped at her nose. "I know you don't. I saw when he did it in their room. He said he saw you leaving the room and that I mustn't trust you, but he didn't know I saw the entire thing, he must have read my mind and that's why he took me to Magnus, but why did he kill mom?" Kera sobbed. "He never taught me anything. Mom was the one to always tell things and show me how to use my powers, so why did he kill her?""This
Scarlet made her way to the crystal cave, to put the red crystal back in its place and cast a spell so that no one can ever reach it again. She also hoped that it would restore the village to what it once was when it was back in its place.Scarlet, Kera, Elijah, and May had gone ahead of the others after the cave refused their entrance. "Hey, May. Remember, you said an ancestor of mine might be from this clan? Is that why the cave allowed me to enter with you?" Kera asked. Elijah glanced at her, noticing that after the war three days ago, and all the training with Scarlet, she was much braver and more confident now. Scarlet asked the river nymphs for entrance, but they start playing around, splashing her with water. "You little." Scarlet cast a spell, making a gigantic wave that washed the nymphs ashore."Scarlet!" May scolded her.Scarlet stopped laughing and helped them back into the water. "Scarlet that was so totally not nice, not cool at all." A nymph told her. Then the stai
April placed a hand over her mouth as she dodged a warlock's fist, then vaporized. Scarlet stood up suddenly. "This all ends now." She began to draw energy from the earth, then let it out. Everyone was thrown off their feet, while it dissolved most of the enemies into nothing. Those who were still stupid enough to run at her got blasted while her dragons had also changed into beings more malevolent, letting out purple and black fire, burning everything. April traced over to Elijah. "We have to stop her before she kills everyone." Elijah gulped. "But she seems demonic."April pinned him with a look. "You're just as strong. Come on." She dragged him off to where Scarlet was. April told him what to do.Elijah grabbed a hold of Scarlet's hand and start chanting some words, feeling the energy rolling from her to him. He directed it to the sky, blocking out the moon.Scarlet fell to the ground, then got up quickly, snarling at April and Elijah. She groaned, holding her head, looking
Nikki let out a cry, her sword sliced right through Matthew as if he was made of butter. His body fell to the ground in two halves, and his face now had a peaceful smile as if that was what he wanted all along.Nikki let out another cry.She walked over to where Kera lay and noticed that the hole in her body was getting smaller and smaller.Kera groaned before sitting up. Nikki gasped. "Kera, you're alive, how is that possible?" Kera looked down at her body in shock. "Did Scarlet teach you how to do that?'' Nikki laughed. Kera shook her head still looking at her body. "No, but the crystals she had us plant yesterday worked, so none of us will die." "But what about those who come to fight us?" Nikki asked, helping Kera to her feet."Scarlet only cares about us, not them, and now is not the time for chit-chat. We are in the middle of a war." "Right," Nikki nodded. "Let's go," Kera smiled, and together they ran after some elves, who ran away screaming. ****Elijah was holding his
When they got to the top of the hill, Kera gulped from beside Elijah, who was too engrossed by the strange glow the red moon cast down on them. The place seemed even more sinister than on any other night. The place was also silent and all he could do was wait until the enemies break the line."Do you think Murmalaid would have helped us out in this situation?" Kera asked.Elijah glanced down at her. "No, because things have changed, but even then, I doubt the fates or gods would have let her interfere. There are no more humans to worry about."Kera nodded. "I guess you are right."Scarlet looked over at her brother, giving him a smile because of how brave he was. When she looked back out, she could see the flames that had engulfed parts of the village."It's a good thing we thought of evacuating the village and an even better idea to have our people set up out there."Horatio held her hand."It is a good thing Miley isn't here to see all this. She would be crying by now." Nikki joked,
