Outside, the wind howled, the window rattled. She hated how empty her space felt without his voice—even if it was just a growl in her ear. She hated that someone else—Fox—was starting to sound like him. Or worse… that they were blending together in her head. Part V – A Story Posted Too Soon That night, she logged in to her story-sharing site, the one where Domica whispered fantasies for her followers to devour. She hadn’t posted in weeks. Until now. She uploaded one called: “The Fox and the Fire.”

The Fox’s voice echoed in my head, a psychic hiss. I knew the legends. In the old sectors, they called them Kitsune or Fox-Demons—creatures that stole lives to extend their own. This wasn't tech; this was ancient, dark 'Noir' magic. She’d already stolen two lives to get those tails. She needed my youth to reset her clock, but the life growing inside me made the 'transfer' impossible. The Fox lunged. She was twice my size, moving with a speed that blurred the air. I dove across the shattered glass, my reflexes sharp and jagged.

He gave them a side glance before the two, with guilt flashing before their eyes, left the room. Finally alone, Felix told his mother what transpired in the hunt. The more Luna Sierra listened, the more her eyes grew wider. She almost had another heart attack. “What do you mean it wasn’t a rogue but an animal?” Luna asked. “A coyote, of all things. How can this be?” More importantly, how could Felix be beaten by such a low animal? Coyotes weren’t even that strong compared to wolves. Didn’t Felix sense that animal or shift while fighting?

Woody was being cautious. If something did happen, it could turn into an unsalvageable situation. After all, Alexia wasn't human! Although Woody had excellent medical skills among other talents, he was still helpless against a member of the tribe of celestial foxes. "Don't worry. Even the elixir of other spiritual beasts is no big deal for me, so much less could be said of the elixir of my own fox tribe," Alexia said and patted her chest. When she patted her chest, her breasts moved without her realizing it, and Woody quietly turned his head away.

‘Ember is a fox,’ I say. ‘A fox?’ Vivian repeats with disbelief. ‘A fox?’ Ella and Grace ask excitedly. ‘Yes, a fox,’ I repeat. ‘Where does one live with a fox?’ Vivian asks. ‘We live in a cave, in the forest,’ I answer. ‘You’ve lived with a fox your whole life, in a cave, in the forest?’ Vivian asks for clarity. Hoping I haven’t said too much, I just nod. ‘That is interesting,’ Vivian says, raising a brow and staring intently at my hooded face as if trying to figure something out.

The courtyard needs sweeping before the outer patrol returns." I didn't answer. I dragged myself off the hard wooden floor, forcing my trembling legs to hold my weight. I threw the coarse wool tunic over my head, the rough fabric scraping against my raw skin. My red tail twitched once against my calf, a silent display of the fury burning beneath my exhaustion.

“I don’t want to wait either, but I am really hungry, can you forgive me, Baby?” He asked while giving me a pout. He looked so adorable and I couldn’t bring it to myself to not forgive him. Nakoa was purring in our mind and showing me images of what could happen after we ate. I heard Jax laugh when my stomach let out a loud growl indicating that I was really hungry as well. Jax moved away and smacked my behind before he left the bathroom to get dressed. I walked out as he slid the pajama bottoms off leaving him naked.
