I cupped a hand over my mouth to hold back the sob bubbling up in my throat. A soft sigh on the other end of the call had my heart jump in my throat. Oh, God, was he retracting his offer? Had I taken too long in responding? "All right," he said. "I can go up to thirty percent. But that's it. That's my final offer." My knees caved out under me. What? Thirty—? I quickly held up my phone again, blinking through my tears as I did the math. A million. One f*cking million dollars.

“Are you dense, or do you need me to spell everything out for you? Agreeing to this makes you an exclusive worker.” “I need time to consider this,” I said, stalling. Amaya's expression turned stony. “You have 48 hours, Nova. After that, the offer expires.” The ultimatum hung in the air, heavy with tension. Suddenly, Dashiell spoke up, his voice low and commanding. “We'll need to discuss this in private, Mother. Nova and I will review the proposal and get back to you.” Amaya's eyes narrowed, but she nodded curtly. “Very well. I expect your answer soon.”

He said “And like I said last time, we cannot go into detail about any information in regards to the agreement until you sign the non-disclosure agreement, do you now understand Bailey?” he asked as he leaned backwards on his chair giving me a slight smile. I nodded anxiously “Good, so what’s your decision?”, he said as he picked up a pen from his desk to scribble something on the book infront of him. “I accept the offer.” “Great! William isn’t in the office today but he'll be back tomorrow night, he went on an urgent business trip but I'll collect your cell phone number and inform him of your decision.

“Send the final offer.” Marcus nodded. Then he hesitated. “Elena.” “Yes?” “Adrian just doubled his bid.” She looked at him. A slow smile appeared. “Then let's see how badly he needs it.”

"Believe me, you're getting the poor end of the deal. My body isn't worth this much." Luckily, I had my seat belt on or I would have hit my head against the windshield. Reed turned sharply into an empty side lot and slammed on the brakes. Oh no, I'd really pissed him off now. "You seriously think I would sleep with you because I'm paying the damn medical bill for a cat? I've offered you an honest job. Sex was not part of that offer. I've never been so hard up I needed to pay for it. This-" he waved his hand in the air, "is a gift. I can afford to have Bitsy's cat looked at and fed caviar for that matter. You said a social worker gave you that trailer. You took that, so you can damn sure take

"No, look why don't you meet my boss, he'll explain" "How do I know it's not a trick" "You don't I guess, here's my number," he says handing me a card "Call me tomorrow around noon and we can chat and then if you and the boss are comfortable then maybe you can both meet" After a thoughtful moment, I agree "Tomorrow then," he says as he walks away, I watch after him for a few moments as he walks away before heading in the opposite direction to meet up with Acre and Lanna.

I just wanted to increase the amount he intended to give me. -"Υοu have two days to answer me" he said firmly. -"I never liked deadlines" I contradicted. -"I can't wait any longer. The offer is on the table. Take it or leave it" he said seriously. -"You did not mention what the offer is about" I justified myself trying to prevent him from taking back his proposal. -"Whatever you want if you can achieve my request." -"I want four hundred drachmas and 30% of your company's shares."

It was a brown big box with paper with a little writing on it. From: Happy Scholarships To: Todd Thomas ' I hope I'm happy in the end,' I muttered sarcastically and slit the seal. I opened the box and saw a white envelope with the same notes: From: Happy Scholarships To: Todd Thomas I took it and checked the back if there were any notes but found none so I just tore open the envelope and took out the letter. It was short and it looked precise. Dear Applicant Todd Thomas, We appreciate your effort and time to apply for Happy Scholarships but we regret to inform you that you were not selected among the chosen. We ask for your patience and understanding. You can apply next year and can be possi

the last man added. “Opposite Mr Hillstone and he is the last of them. Mrs Hernandez is at the top of the table” “Thank you, Nessa” he whispered back before keeping a stoic face. “It is finally time I met you all and I am sorry I can not be there physically but that does not mean the contract can be rendered null and void. Our offer still stands and it depends on you” For a moment Audrey was “wowed” he looked so graceful when he worked and he was just not all handsome.
