I poured every ounce of charm and vulnerability into the request, leaning slightly over the desk to catch his eye. Nolan finally looked up, but his gaze was as cold as a mountain spring. There was no warmth there, Just a hollow, echoing void. "Kim will go with you." The name felt like a slap in the face. "Kim?" I echoed, my voice shrill with disbelief. "Nolan, he’s your assistant. He’s... he’s staff. I can’t walk into the Royal Academy graduation with a bodyguard on my arm." "Kim is the Head of Royal Security and my most trusted partner," Nolan countered, his voice hardening. "His presence at your side is a direct reflection of my authority.”

Kim. Mr. Kim continued, “Before anyone starts an argument within this conference room, I want to make something clear. This does not involve one person only. Miss Chun has committed a lot of offenses in the office and we know everything. Mr. Nam also knows that most of you just paid a blind eye to what is happening and he’s not happy with your attitude.

He was not willing if someone had some doubts about her abilities. “Miss Kim will work in your office until this project ends, but remember to treat her well,” asked Chin Hwa. “She is the worthiest assets for our company.” “You don’t need to teach me how to treat a woman, Mr. Song!” said Ansel. He was obviously offended by Chin Hwa’s warning. “Well, I think the meeting’s over,” Ansel decided. “I want you to start working today, Miss Kim.” Xander who always kept silent while observing the progress of the tough negotiation elbowed Ansel after leaving Chin Hwa and Qeiza.

I had barely crossed over to my own side of the balcony when I felt Kim behind me, grabbing my waist back to him. He brought his lips to my ear like he always does and then whispered "There's someone I want you to meet." "Huh, who?" "My assistant" "Assistant? You have your assistant here?" "She tries to make herself scarce when you're around my place" He said and then began to nibble on my ears. "And I've told her a few things about you, not a lot, just enough to get her curious. And she is curious about you, cupcake." When I didn't speak, just closed my eyes and leaned into him, enjoying the sensations his lips on my ears were giving, he continued.

“I supplied information.” He was right. Sometimes Elion spoke more like a CEO than an assistant. He worked too efficiently for someone who has not managed something of his own. My phone dinged with a familiar ringtone. Serena was calling me. Serena was my best friend and COO at Kingston steel and she's now the acting CEO. “Hey, stranger,” she said. I could literally see her pouting. “I'm sorry I've not reached out. It's been quite hectic these past months.” “I hear you, it's been like that over here. It's so weird seeing you in the boardroom and not complementing your dress.”

After a minute, she came out again and was followed by a young man, slightly older than the one in front of him. “Hello there.. You must be Katherine Atwood. Nice to meet you. I’m the manager here. The name is Ahmed Harrell. The owner, Jionni Puckett just went out for a bit, so I’ll be doing the interview with you.” Ahmed told her, his face friendly. “Okay. Nice to meet you too.” Katherine shook his hand. Ahmed then told her to follow him to the little office where he came from earlier. “Please sit..” Ahmed gestured.

As soon as he stepped out of his office, he saw a suited middle-aged man coming out of the office next to his. When the man saw the employees gathered in front of Kaze’s office, his brows furrowed for a moment, signaling his displeasure, but he quickly masked it with a smile. “Mr. Lee. I’m Eliot Caemon, the vice manager. I will be your assistant from now on. I was busy earlier and didn’t get the chance to say hello.” Had Kaze not eaten lunch with Jenny, he would not have known who the man was. Eliot took the initiative to greet Kaze first.

"Not technically. Kimbra works in the human resources department. She answers to a manager, not to me." "But you own the company?" I shrug. "Part of it." Oscar leans forward. "Son, what are your intentions?" "Dad!" Kimbra yells as she walks closer, carrying two plates, each with two eggs. "Here, Dad, eat some eggs and stop giving Duncan the third degree." She places a plate in front of him and gives his head a kiss before placing the other plate in front of me. "I just think he has some explaining to do." Kevin brings over his and Susan's plates and settles next to his wife, who's pretty quiet. She keeps looking in my general direction, but I've decided she just doesn't talk much. Maybe with

"Oh, my goodness! It's indeed Jakara." The smile I initially plastered on my face faded when I heard their stifled voices. "Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen," Kim greeted as soon as we're about a meter away from them, hushing out there whispering toward each other. I felt their eyes on me as Kim pulled out a chair for both of us. Once we were seated, Kim lifted his head and cleared his throat, catching their full attention. "Ladies and gentlemen, one of the important things that I am going to bring up this morning is to let you met our new manager for the Asian branches, Miss Yen Ramos."
