I raised my legs up and strained my neck upward trying to bring my leg and nose together so I could rub the tingling away. There was some play in my arm restraints, but not quite enough to get the leg and nose connection that I needed. I started rocking my body back and forth in an attempt to bring my legs higher. In a giant heave of effort, I flung my legs up and over my body.

Tubes and wires snake around her, connected to various machines that sustain her dwindling life.
