I pressed the heels of my hands hard against my closed eyes, seeing stars, rocking back and forth on the cushion. Stop. Stop. Please, stop. I practically screamed into the air. But the loop wouldn’t break. It was a riptide pulling me under. My body began to tremble,a violent, uncontrollable shudder that started deep in my core and rattled out to my fingertips. I was gasping now, great, ragged heaves that didn’t bring enough oxygen.

My fingers tingled, my mind spun. This couldn’t be happening.

He was saying something, his deep voice calm and steady, but I wasn’t listening anymore. My eyes had betrayed me. As he folded his arms loosely across his chest, one of his pectoral muscles tightened, the movement subtle yet impossible to miss. The firm muscle contracted beneath his skin before relaxing again with a faint twitch, as if it had a mind of its own. My gaze froze. It twitched! The ridiculous little flex stole every ounce of my concentration. My brain, apparently deciding it had suffered enough stress for one morning, completely shut down. His chest twitched again when he shifted his weight.

Now that's the weirdest. Why didn't I bring my sweaters along? Now, I'm totally freezing. The meeting was already ongoing, and I was supposed to be taking down the minutes, but, there I was, shivering. My hand was shaking uncontrollably whenever I held the pen. It was like fighting a very tough battle with myself, and this crazy urge to sneeze wasn't even helping. I kept trying to control it, I literally touched my nose a thousand times. Why in god's name was it not working?

My hands grow limp and fall to my side. Maybe it's not my vision… Maybe it's my unconscious mind wandering.

Orders were given one after another, fast, sharp, precise. But something wasn’t right. Even the doctor could see it. He had handled cases before. Severe ones. Complicated ones. But this… this didn’t fit neatly into anything he knew. “What’s causing the twitching?” he muttered, more to himself than anyone else. No one answered. Because no one knew. “Run a scan. Now.” They moved quickly, pushing Damien again, this time toward imaging. His body still hadn’t settled. The small movements in his hands were still there, like something deeper was happening beneath the surface.

My head throws itself back involuntarily, smacking against the tire well. Tears sting my eyes, Oh my goddess, I'm going to choke to death. My heart is beating harshly against my chest, my throat and stomach convulsing against each other. My lungs burn as I struggle to get air. I can't breathe...I CAN'T BREATHE! I don't know if it's from fear or lack of oxygen, but my whole body starts shaking uncontrollably. Each convulsion shifts the chains, burning my skin more and more. White spots dance across my eyes as black hazes form on the edges and tunnel my vision.

My lips and tongue are now very numb to even twitch. “Are you saying it or not?” He thrutchs his face away from my front and slowly whispers these words in my right ears. The frequency of goosebumps that causes a cold on my body is unexplainable. I push down saliva with my hands frozen. His voice keeps resounding in my ear. I won’t lie, my eyes just closed as soon as his voice dropped in my ear. “I…I…” I stutter inaudibly and shit it! The words aren’t coming out. What the hell is wrong with me!? Why can’t I get a grip over myself?

Stoic added. My hands started shaking, but I wasn't sure why and I couldn't seem to stop it. The trembling continued up my arms and then throughout my body. My body was seizing and my eyes rolled back in my head.
