I couldn’t tell my thoughts to anyone except Dion. This was why it came as a shock and delight to me at the same time when Fiona finally reached out to say she would be the child bearer. I know it must have been a very hard decision for her to make before coming to that resolution. I had sent the guard from the last time to bring her back to the palace and ensure she was comfortable.

"Fiona, whose child was it?" The question came out harsher than I'd intended. She flinched, pulling her hand from mine. "Does it matter now?" "It matters to me." She was quiet for so long I thought she wouldn't answer. When she finally spoke, her voice was barely a whisper. "I don't know." "You don't know?" "There were... there were others. Before Damon. Before I came here." Fresh tears leaked from her eyes. "I'm not the innocent omega everyone thinks I am."

Seeing that I had ignored her, Remy turned and looked around my room, trying to see if there was anything new that she could take for herself. "Today's my birthday. Dad, Mom, and Blake gave me lots of presents! What are you going to give to me, Fiona?" Remy crossed her arms over her chest, not finding anything appropriate about her demanding a gift from me. In the past, I would ask her why she didn't think of giving me a present first. Now, it no longer mattered. Remy glanced at what was on the table. Instantly, her eyes lit up with interest and she made a grab for it.

“I’ll let our Alpha and Luna explain everything to you when they get here. In the meantime, Fiona can catch you up on the pack. She has been waiting patiently to talk to you. She is also an omega, just like you.” What? An omega? That can’t be possible. I turn and look at Fiona. Before I can even ask, she smiles and says, “Yes. I’m an omega. We have a few of them here, including Luna Katelyn and Bridget, who will someday be a High Elder just like her mother.” The doctor clears his throat and adds, “I’ll leave you two to talk for a bit, but I’ll be back in when Alpha Wyatt and Luna Katelyn get here. If anything happens before then, let me know.”

He could slow the few at the front, but the waves behind them just kept coming, one after another, unstoppable. Fiona, a wood-element and inventory-variant Gifted, was nearly useless in this situation. With a loud crash, the nail polish display beside her was torn apart, and a greenish-gray hand burst through the gap, reaching straight for her. Right at that critical moment, a blinding burst of fire ignited in front of them, fierce and radiant like the sun itself.

“Her mother was a little spoiled too. You will meet her soon. You should be careful.” Fiona laughed before she finished her tea. In this world, she felt that she already met all sorts of sinister people. From terrorists to rapists, to kidnappers and murderers. She was a doctor—their doctor. He stared at her, wondering why she didn’t show an iota of fear. Luca lowered his head. He couldn’t help but wonder what made her this way. Was it because of the suffering that she experienced when she was still a part of the Chen Family? “What are you thinking?” Fiona leaned against the couch, a smile appeared on her face.

I wasn't accepting this life and this fate; I was simply strategizing. The girl stepped forward and grabbed my hand. “It's me, Fiona. Did you really hit your head? How can you not know me?” “Fiona…?” “Yes! Your Personal Assistant. The next best thing that's happened in your life, you know,” she added with a cheeky grin that had me blinking and wondering if she was maybe a little sick in the head too. Fiona sat on the bed and brushed a hand across my cheek. The gesture was so tender it almost melted my heart. But I had to stay wary.

“They’re the source.” I frowned. “The source of what?” Fiona stepped forward now, slow and deliberate. “Of us. Of all of us.” She knelt, brushing her fingers across the wet earth with a reverence that bordered on sacred, as if the soil cradled not just roots and bones, but secrets too ancient for the wind to carry. Her touch was gentle, almost yearning, like she was greeting a forgotten god who once ruled the stars and now slumbered beneath the crust of a dying world.

Then she looked at Butler John and said, "Butler John, please greet my father for me." If her father hadn't seen her, she could have gotten in the car and left, but now it wasn't possible. Butler John, of course, had also noticed Taylor Forger. He quickly replied, "The driver and I will wait for you, Miss." Fiona Forger walked up to her father and the others, politely addressing him as "father" before glancing at the people beside him. Apart from Director Lautner, she didn't know the others, but there was a young girl in designer clothes that caught her attention. She couldn't help but look at her more than a few times. The girl was about her age, but her face was exceptionally captivating,

So I headed downstairs and waited in the car for Fiona to arrive. Fiona soon arrived alongside some omega's whose hands were filled with different varieties of foods, snacks, and fruits. I stared at her in awe, fascinated at how she quickly thought about all this. My initial plan was just to go see them and say one or two things, I never thought about taking all these items to them. Fiona's thoughtfulness shows how great a Luna she is. She might not have a wolf but she definitely has a good heart. "I'm sorry for keeping you waiting," she apologized, and she instructed the omega's where to put those items. I also saw Rick coming behind driving a mini pickup truck.
