Bloodbound: The legacy of Serelai
The blank page filled, not with pictures, but a single, blood-red word written over and over in frantic ancient script:
BETRAYAL. BETRAYAL. BETRAYAL.
The Speaking Stone changed, the black weeping cracks glowed the same fierce red. The stone wasn’t breaking, it bled light.
A violent crimson beam shot from its top, piercing the dome and striking the nearest stone, which fired a beam to the next, and so on, until the valley was connected in a web of bloody light.
The thump… thump… of the army stopped.
The dome vanished, in its place was a net of raw, painful memory.
