All that remained in his mind was hatred, but that was exactly the hatred that Adrian was ready to exploit. "Marissa!” he called out. "Ready!" Marissa responded from above and spread her wings wide. Flames that burned like the sun enveloped Shadowblade, binding him in place. It was like he had been shackled by countless chains. Suddenly, the flames detonated with such force that Shadowblade was launched into the air. "Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!" Shadowblade's anguished roar pierced the sky as he was engulfed by the fiery onslaught.

Golden arrows slowly emerged, timidly trying to chase away the shadows of the night. The great fire disc made its appearance. First, it emerged as a red line growing wider and wider until it rose victorious into the angelic blue sky, ready to stretch its arms over the whole earth. It tamed its color slightly, becoming comforting as it shyly soaked up the night frost with which you would think it was soothing its own color.

Her bodyguards swarmed me, a flurry of fists and boots coming at me from all sides. I fought back with all my might, but against those muscular men, I was overwhelmed and forced to the ground. I curled up, doing my best to shield myself. Nicole let out a piercing scream and threw herself over me, her small body trying to fend off the blows meant for me. Willow applied pressure to her arm with a piece of paper while Roy gripped the steering wheel tight, his knuckles white. Sierra’s call came in halfway down the road, and she sounded panicky. “Roy, the candle we lit for Melanie in the church is flickering for no reason. I think it’s about to go out. Can you check it out? I’m worried.” Roy slammed the brakes and replied, “I’m heading back. We’re not traveling down the mountain tonight.” Observing the anguish look on Willow’s face, Roy changed his mind. He saw no reason to let Willow have her way.

The first light of dawn filtered through fractured windows, casting fractured beams across the training room. Eva’s body ached from yesterday’s exertion, muscles sore, but the fire within her refused to dim. The Flame and Shadow intertwined beneath her skin, pulsing with an intensity that made her feel both powerful and dangerously unstable.
