Kael walked beside her, pointing out different plants, telling her their names and the stories attached to them.
There was a small stone bench tucked beneath an old oak tree, and they sat there, side by side, watching the world wake up. Elara pulled out her own notebook and pen the one she always carried and began to write. At first, the words came slowly, but as she let go of her fears, they began to flow, pouring out onto the page like water from a spring. She wrote of the cottage, of the rain, of the quiet man beside her, and of the strange, wonderful feeling of finally being able to breathe.
