"I want to stay with you now. I miss you so much." "I know, sweetheart. How about Mommy tells you a really fun story? You get some sleep, and when you wake up, I promise I'll stay a few extra hours with you. How does that sound?" "You promise?" "Pinky swear!" I cross my fingers and kiss them. "Okay." I help him get comfortable in bed and sit in a chair to start telling him the story. "I want the story of The Girl with the Red Hood." "Oh wow, that's not exactly a bedtime story, Alex!" I grumble. "How about something more…"

Surprisingly, the man had agreed to my daughter’s request without a hint of hesitation and the pair of us had laid down on either side of Abby. He indulged in her next request with a bedtime story, albeit a rather peculiar one. I had expected a fairy tale along the lines of Little Red Riding Hood or Sleeping Beauty, but his tale was about a werewolf. Not the most appropriate story for inducing a sleepy child, but Abby was listening with wide, fascinated eyes, so my mouth remained shut on the matter. Well, those eyes were wide about five minutes ago. Now, her eyelids slowly blinked up and down while she crashed from the exciting and scary events of the day. Soren’s voice resonated in low tone

The evil ones. The kind of bedtime stories mothers whispered to keep their children from wandering past the watchtowers after nightfall. Stories I'd dismissed as folklore meant to frighten the young and gullible, nothing more than superstition wrapped in shadow. Yet here one stood, in my bedroom, as real as the floorboards beneath my feet.

He seemed just woken up. I stood up and lifted him. I slowly rocked him, put his head between my neck. "Not yet, Baby. Go to sleep again." "I can't, Mommy. I miss Daddy's bedtime stories." He murmured. "I'll just tell you a story." I sighed. "What bedtime story do you want?" "It's about the King and Queen. The King left his Queen in the war so the enemy got the Queen." What the hell. "Baby, why-" I stopped speaking when the door opened. He was surprised to see us. Reid dropped from my grasp and ran towards Wright.

For this reason, I decided to move all then into strange short stories, that is already a storybook of different themes. The w******l policy does not allow me to remove or delete those books, so they will remain there but as a "paused" book. You can find only the introduction of those books on w******l and no else more. But there you can find some covers I made for those stories and that I can not upload here. The stories of a single chapter will continue to be published, of course. Each volume of Strange short stories will have 3 medium-sized stories and about 10 short stories.

Gabrielle's heart thumped hard as she heard the door to Nick's room push open. The room was dark, and she lay hidden under his sheets in just her underwear. “Okay?” Nick chuckled in clear excitement as he slid into the bed. “I know how freaky you can get but hiding under the sheets with the lights off is something I didn't expect.” he laughed and curled up beside her. Gabrielle didn't move or speak… yet. She was too scared to.

His fingers tapped on the tabletop without any rhythm as he said flatly, “Babies sleep with their parents. I don’t mind giving you a chance to sleep with me.” Harold was speechless. No one would want to sleep with a devil, like Daddy. He would be so frightened that he would not be able to fall asleep. George was speechless. He would rather sleep alone. “How about I sleep with all of you tonight?” Mrs. Winters smiled and said. “I have learned a few bedtime stories. I will tell you stories tonight.” “Yeah! Awesome!” Melody was the most supportive one as she clapped cheerfully. Harold, who was afraid that his daddy would force him to sleep with him, clapped as well. He said, “I can’t wait to he

If she had children, she would also read fairy tales to them before going to bed. "Fairy tales are good for exercising creativity and imagination." "And it becomes too much for Heidi." Alex said flatly. Remembering Alma always annoyed him. “Around the age of two, when she started sleeping alone in her room, Heidi used to scream in the middle of the night and wake up everyone in the mansion. Since then she never wanted to sleep if the light was not turned on. We've tried to train her and also told her that the monster isn't real, but she still insisted on turning on the light in her room."

The next story Laura Figures. The night I drag myself here, Fantasies is suffocating with bodies. The one night I need release after a week from hell, the place is pulsing with noise and sweat. Everywhere I turn, heat and perfume press in, laughter cutting through the bass. It is not just crowded; it is overwhelming—the kind of crush that makes me wonder if I have lost my mind thinking this is the cure for burnout.
