I need to get his scent off me before I head back to the pack house, or else he would notice. Werewolf senses are extremely heightened four times to that of a human, so it is impossible for anyone especially the alpha to not notice. I found a lake close by and quickly dove into it. After I successfully cleaned my body and rid myself off his juices, I felt confident enough go return to the pack house. It's pack dinner tonight. And the Alpha insisted I don't fail to attend as he is going to announce something very important. I'm not sure what, and I have no clue.

"I'm not risking my life. You shouldn't either. It's not like you're his mate or he made you his luna." "I may not be his luna or mate, but I do care about my alpha." She sprang out of the car without waiting for Becca's reply, shifting into a golden beta wolf. She targeted a rogue who had hollow red eyes and raced in his direction, ramming into his gut and knocking him down to the ground. Another rogue leaped into the air from behind her and slammed her to the ground right next to the first rogue.

The pack house had a large library on the second floor that I had only visited a few times. After dinner, when most people were relaxing in the common areas, I slipped upstairs to see what I could find. The library was quiet and dimly lit, with tall shelves filled with books about werewolf history, pack records, and various other topics. I wasn't sure exactly what I was looking for, but I hoped I might find some reference to Seraphina or the attack that killed her. I started with the pack records, looking for any mentions of events from five years ago. Most of the books were dry accounts of territory disputes, trade agreements and pack meetings.

"Yes, sir. May I know why you ask me this?" "Oh, I have a son. You two would have made a great match. Sad that you are with another man." Freya shook her head. "Don't worry sir, I am sure your son will find a good wife." Luciana nodded in agreement. "Let's go Freya." The girls searched through the books in the werewolf section of the restricted side of the library. They scanned through many books before Luciana came across one. "Lycanthropy- the history of Lycans and werewolves." She read out. "Let me see what we have here." She then went to take a seat, while Freya continued with her search.

The shelves stretched to the ceiling, filled with books that looked like they hadn’t been touched in years. I walked slowly between the rows, running my fingers along the shelves until I found the section on werewolf history. I grabbed a few thick books that looked promising and carried them to a quiet corner table near the window. The light was soft there, golden and peaceful. I let out a breath and opened the first book, skimming through chapters on bloodlines, first shifts, pack traditions… stuff I probably should have known already. I’d only read a few pages when someone pulled out the chair across from me.

So far I had five books which were classics that I knew would peak my interest such as Little Women, A Tale Of Two Cities, Wuthering Heights and others. All of these books were about humans and I admired the wide selection of books that this room had. I tried to find one that was all about werewolves like the library back at my pack had, but I found only one that was labelled 'In The Beginning' and it was written by none other than the eldest werewolf alive who was Gareth Coleman. In the synopsis, it stated his life as an old werewolf dated back to the time when werewolves were discovered and ended when werewolves were thought to be just myths.

Their gazes lock, “It means that fire wolves are the most dangerous werewolf created, and that’s why they must remain pure.” She cracks up. “This sounds so much like a fairytale, and I’m not surprised. It’s the kindergarten book along with that one as well.” “Hey! Do not make jokes, Jac, these are the only books so far that graze over who you are. There are over a thousand books written about werewolves lore and none is written about fire wolves except these two and it was very hard finding them.” he frowned at her. “I’m sorry then for making fun of them and disregarding your effort.”
