He laughed, even now, bleeding, filthy, surrounded by horror.
I loved him for it.
The last of the undead shuddered, then froze, literally froze, as Sophie unleashed one final burst of frost. The courtyard went silent except for the crackle of ice and the echo of breathing.
Ronan dropped his weapon and leaned into me, forehead to mine. “Remind me to never get chained up again.”
