Torn Between Two Moons
Take it!
My body trembled, the fire within clawing for release. I felt it rising, wild and uncontrollable. The floor shook beneath my feet, cracks splitting the stone. Soldiers stepped back in fear, some murmuring prayers, others cursing my name.
Kaïden shoved Thorne away, but he was slower now, his strength fading. Thorne noticed that weakness. He raised his remaining blade, poised to deliver the fatal blow.
Something inside me snapped.
I charged forward, flames bursting from my palms in a brilliant arc. The heat seared the air, striking the ground between them like an act of divine judgment. Both men froze, forced apart by the roaring flames.
