I make a peace sign with my fingers and walk away. He chuckles, nodding his head and driving away. He doesn't really need to drive far. Dad works as a construction worker. He was hired along with a large group to construct new cabins in the vineyard that apparently will be part of the BnB that they already have.

But he also has a few age lines that make him the wisest ever—aside from a certain someone.

I shove my thoughts away and did my usual morning routine. Afterwards, I headed downstairs to eat breakfast. Dad isn't home since he's off early this day to his clinic. He's a veterinarian by profession and my mom's a secretary for dad.

His study was filled with his medals and trophies but he never let his professional life mix with his personal life. He was dealing with a dangerous case for some time now and is always busy with night shifts and overtimes.

NATHAN'S POV Being a full-time father wasn’t in my plans, but the moment I held Hope in my arms and saw her smile, everything changed. My life used to revolve around work, stress, and late-night deadlines at the restaurant. Now, every morning started with soft giggles, a bottle, and the routine of dressing her tiny body in pink or purple onesies. She never cried when I dropped her off at school—not once. "I am making time for your first day at school and i know I haven't always been there and I'm sorry, I'm.." dad hesitates a bit then continues "I'm trying to do better, to be the father you deserve".

“I bet that is a job. What about the farm? Taking care of the farm is a job.” Oliver took another bite of eggs before washing it down with juice. “We live here. That’s not a job.” I couldn’t help but laugh. He had some sound reasoning. “I’ve been a single parent since, well, forever. I worked a lot back in New York. This is a big change for him.” “I think it’s great,” Alex said. “A fulltime dad makes you a very lucky little man.” Oliver nodded his head. “Yep.” “I just hope I can be both,” I told her.
