He stood, upright, at my side, as I stared at the empty plush chair Jayden had occupied ten minutes ago.
“Keep watching him, as we’ve been doing. Both of them. Jay and Ralis. It may get a bit messy, but keep out of anything. If he gets his head chopped off, that’s his problem.”
“Boss?”
“I don’t wanna hear it, B. He’s a fucking spook, or a ninja. I don’t care. It’s his game, let him play it. We’re out. Just… eyes. Keep them on ‘im. That’s all.”
