The first guardian raised its arm, and the ground beneath them trembled. Elena barely had time to react before the air around them began to distort, like a heatwave rising from the ground. The second guardian had summoned an illusion, creating duplicates of itself that swarmed the group, their movements erratic and unpredictable. "Focus! Don’t let the illusions deceive you!" Lucas shouted, his sword flashing as he cut through one of the figures. It disintegrated into smoke, but another quickly took its place. The guardians were relentless.

Two guards stood watch, their eyes scanning the courtyard for any signs of intruders. "Take the one on the left," Luca whispered, his voice barely audible. I nodded, drawing my silenced pistol. With practiced precision, we took out both guards, their bodies crumpling to the ground without a sound. "Clear," Luca said, motioning for me to follow. The vault door was massive, a steel monstrosity that looked impenetrable. But Revenant had assured us that once we reached this point, she would handle the rest. I pulled out the second burner phone and sent a single text.

Luca Torres had burned my world and walked away from the ashes and life was giving me a shot to turn him to ashes too. Alighting, I stood in the shadows outside the garage, fingers flexing around my gun, watching him work like he was just another mechanic. He had grease on his hands and sweat on his brows. There was no sign of the monster that’d torn everything apart for me, just a man working his ass off. He bent over an engine, muttering under his breath, completely unaware that the karma had come knocking. I stepped forward trying to be as quiet as I could and stopped in front of him.

Until they landed on me. He didn’t look impressed. “Bram, you’re here,” Dad said. My stomach twisted. Please don’t tell me this is a fucking therapist. I don’t have a mental issue. “Renzo,” he turned toward me, “this is Bram Hale. Your new bodyguard.” I blinked. “Body—what?” Mom stepped in quickly. “Honey, it’s just until we figure out who—who did this. Someone obviously wants your dead and we can’t take any chances.”

Eduardo helped her up, but, her palms were cold, and her eyes shut involuntarily, just like that, a palm strike ended a life of a top cultivator like Mama Sarah. Eduardo laid her on the ground, and looked at the two Guardians coldly, the Guardians also glared at him resentfully, their hatred for Eduardo tripled. “If you don't tell us where the child and the mother are, you will join her,” one of the Guardians said coldly. Eduardo laughed maniacally, “over my dead body” he spat out. And a dark cloud gathered over his head, the Guardians were not interested in his moves. They stretched their hands at once, and their inner energy formed a big, sharp axe over Eduardo's head.

She stopped when Loki said to. Meanwhile, the guardians appeared right in front of their mini-house. Venus, as the leader, came in and showed themselves. A blinding light showed with them as they enter Kira and Loki's house. "Are you sure we should let them see our faces?" asks Konan. "This is what the highest deity wants us to do. Let's just do it," Venus responded. Her waters splashed Kira and Loki's eyes and there, they could finally see the three guardians— mountain, forest, and the moon. Kira and Loki get down on their knees— feeling really sinful after seeing a glowing light showing within the three guardians' bodies.
