Using my aunt's curling iron, I curled my hair and sprayed some perfume. I was left staggering back at my reflection in the mirror. Suddenly, I heard a knock at the door. A smile sprang to my lips as I rushed to the door. I took a sharp breath in before opening it. Outside, Gavin stood wearing a grey suit. His hair was disheveled, as always, and his lips were red from the cold. He looked handsome, as always. He stared at me unblinkingly, his lips apart. It was as if he was in a trance. I started to get nervous, so I snapped my fingers in his face.

A familiar high-pitched voice was what I have heard the moment I opened the glass door of my favorite salon. "Hi Ma'am! Good to see you again! What will you do this time?" The gay stylist welcomed me with a wide smile, showing his teeth with braces and sky blue rubbers. I lifted my lips a bit to give him a small smile as he laid his hand towards a swivel chair, motioning me to sit. I tucked my hair behind my ear and made myself comfortable with the big, moving chair. "I want to cut my hair this short," I put my two fingers like a scissor in my hair, just below my brassiere. "Color it with hazel brown and do a minor perm, I want it to look as normal as it can be." I smiled.
