The Alpha's Surrogate

"You're still so beautiful, Aviana," he whispers, sending cold shivers down my spine.

My heart is beating so fast. I try to calm myself so he doesn't see how frightened I am.

"You thought he could save you? there's no escaping me," his eyes shine with malice.

"He'll kill you. Let me go," I say firmly. He lets out a cold, dry laugh, looking around the window.

"No, he won't, but does he even care anymore now that he got what he wanted?" he asks, harshly grabbing my neck and showing me around his 'empire.' Indeed, there are so many guards. He is the lord here; every man out there will die for him.

"But just in case he dares come for you, I'll be ready—oh, trust me, I will, my dearest Aviana. You'll always be mine,"

I unconsciously touch the old scar he gave me, and tears freely stream down my face. He has an ear-splitting smile, sensing my fear and helplessness. His face contorts, and the scar on his jaw looks more extensive than ever.

"Guards, take her away," he orders. The two guards drag me to a dark room and push me in there.

I miss him. I miss his warmth. I miss my baby, too. Gods, I miss them.

'No one will harm you again, human; I will always protect you,' he says, so sure of himself, with his cockiness and arrogance.
