Clara smiled at her subconscious action. With a small shake of her head she sighed and said,

They weren't "Purified," and they weren't "Shadowed." They were something new. They were the first warriors of the "Genesis Legion." Lyra fell to her knees beside her son, her hands trembling as she pulled him into her chest. She felt the warmth of his skin, but it was different now. Diesel commented. “My lab is working on a vaccine. A serum that will genetically modify their DNA so their warrior gene stays dormant.” “Warrior?” “Hunters have six gene sequences that trigger aggression towards enhanced humans. In an instant, iron grilles slammed shut over the main doorways, and the automatic fire‑suppression system released a thick mist, blinding the enemy. Amidst the chaos, a figure emerged from the smoke and fog. He carried no firearm, only a tactical dagger. His face was an exact duplicate of Mavric’s. Julian Jr. “Welcome home, brother,” Julian Jr. said with a deeply repulsive smile. “And thank you, Liora, for opening that safe for me. I need that second key to complete the Genesis sequence inside my own body.” Mavric stepped forward, discarding his empty gun and drawing his own folding combat knife. Two men with identical faces now stood facing each other in the wreckage of the great hall.

You lack the necessary qualities.” I grinned quietly. “Then watch me.” Dante's hold tightened and before I could say another word he yanked me away. Barry's eyes were staring into my back as we left. “Very well done,” Dante murmured. “He's upset now.Well done. That's the strategy.” I knew in my heart though that this was just the beginning. The war was on. And I was prepared to destroy everything by fire
