He had given her everything his care, his trust, his attention, his loyalty and she had tossed it aside like scraps. Thalia knew, deep down, that if Eliana had simply asked him for all his wealth, all his properties, every piece of himself, he would have given it freely. That was the kind of man George was. And Eliana had never valued him. So maybe, just maybe, destiny had intervened. Maybe that was why Eliana was no longer part of the picture. That was why George was here, beside her, as her life partner. Thalia let out a slow sigh, then another, before moving across the room. Her movements were soft, and calculated.
