Jon spat, ripping out the rag and yanking George by the collar of his checkered pajamas. The gash on his lip quivered. “Please don’t hurt me. I’ve got kids, a wife.” “Zoe!” Jon yelled, ripping George so close he could smell blood. “Tell me where you fucking took her.” “She’s at a secondary location. I – I can show you.” The words spewed from George’s mouth, each a last ditch effort to save himself from his impending fate. “It’s off the main road, underground. You – you won’t be able to get in without me. The security… it’s insane and the entrance isn’t visible. You – you have to know…”

It was slightly chilly and goosebumps rose on her skin. Gwen first looked on the desk next to the bed but the book was not there. There were other objects and books that belonged to Ace but nothing that she was looking for. She then looked under the bed and there was nothing under there and so that just left the bed. It would be weird if he actually slept with it. It was not even his personal possession and yet he would have it in his bed. Gross. Especially given the previous person it belonged to.

I nodded slightly and then the car reversed back, leaving the premises and then we were on the road, back to my place. + When George dropped me in front of my building, it was 1 in the morning. I thanked him, he smiled at me and then drove away. I reached my condo through the elevator. I was feeling drained and exhausted, I just wanted a peaceful sleep. When I got inside the place, I went to my room but the bed was empty. I changed into my night suit and then went to search for Alexander but I didn’t find him. I went to the kitchen, I saw a sticky note, posted on the fridge beside the one I left for him earlier. It says:

Andrea patted the bed beside her,"You can sleep here" "With you"Louis asked. His green eyes widened in surprise. Andrea stared up at him for a few seconds and went back to looking at her phone,"On the bed". He dragged his body to the bed and climbed in beside her. His body curled up, and he turned his back on her. Andrea's eyes moved from the phone to his body. She turned off the light,"Louis" "Yeah". He turned to look at her. "A doctor will check on you tomorrow morning".

It's nice to feel that not only the pain of your body has been removed but also the stressful things that happened to me in the past few days. I went straight to our bed and I fell asleep. When I woke up it was a bit dark. I immediately looked for Andrew but I could not find him. "Andrew?" I called him but he did not answer. "Andrew?" I went to the living room. "Andrew?" I also went to the bathroom. But Andrew did not answer me. I suddenly felt nervous. Where is Andrew? I started to panic when I noticed something on the sofa. It's a big box. I went to the sofa to check the box, there I saw a card placed on top of the box.

He carries me up the short stairs and sets me down as we entered his bedroom. The room was beautiful and the king sized bed was decorated with flower petals down to the floor. The room smelled of a certain fragrance that I wanted to inhale deeply till it blocks my sense of smell. "Looks like my father went extra just so we could have a perfect wedding night" Giorgio's amused voice says from behind me.

It must be on the bed. Running to the bed, I ruffled it, pulled the sheets down, but nothing. It wasn’t there. I checked under the bed, nothing. Maybe when Greta arranged the bed, she placed it in the drawer. I rushed to the drawer and pulled everything open. Empty. Nothing was there. I can’t lose it. No, no, no. I checked under the drawer, but nothing. It was nowhere to be found. Over and over again, I touched my neck where it used to be, but it wasn’t there. The bed, the cupboard, everything in rotation, nothing.

Alex grins like he just gets his answers. “The kitchen is on the left side. You don’t have to go outside. There’s a hall that connects from here to the kitchen. The bedroom is on the right side, but I warn you, there’s no bed, and it's just a mattress made of pure cotton.” He laughs slightly, and I know what does he means. I nod in agreement.

He placed the frame back carefully, his heart aching as he continued to take in the room. The space was warm and lived-in, a reflection of Gennie’s personality. The queen-sized bed sat in the center, neatly made with soft, inviting blankets. A cozy sofa rested nearby, and a small work desk stood against the wall, cluttered with papers and pens. Adjacent to the vanity was a door that Alex assumed led to the closet. But his attention was quickly pulled away when his phone buzzed in his pocket, shattering the silence.
