The Games of the Heart

The Games of the Heart

I wonder what game he’s playing. “Yes.” “Hmm.” His gaze remains fixed on me, that infuriating smile still in place. The weight of his attention makes my knees weak, and I excuse myself before I can embarrass myself further. I rush to my room and slump against my door, heart pounding and mind racing with the same question from earlier: What the hell was that?

Awesome! This is the second book I’ve read from this author and it is outstanding! Love this family and their story. Wonderful storyline, written well, held my interest, strong characters, not drawn out and just an amazing love story. Adding you to my favorite list author. Will be reading more.

I loved this book. The grammar and English were great. I’ve partly read and quit several books on there that were literally unreadable. I got a little confused on Andrea’s family not knowing Stefano but it was explained later.

Is Life A Single Player Experience?

Is Life A Single Player Experience?

“But recently, I met another gamer who’s kind of insufferable, but also just about as good as me. According to them, life’s one of the these games that just need fixing. I still don’t fully believe it, but they do know their stuff when it comes to games, so for now I’ve decided to test it out. In other words, I’m trying to take the game of life more seriously.” Zoe blinks in surprise. The next thing I say isn't directed at her so much as at the gamer with the best work ethic, the most confidence, and the worst personality in the world. “As a game, I don’t know if life’s god-tier, but at the very least, it’s decent! That’s what I think.” Zoe opens her pretty mouth wide and smiles. “So it need

THE TRIPLETS GAME

THE TRIPLETS GAME

Jeane looked at him in disbelief, “ I don't believe you. “ “ Why? Because I indulge in a game of sex? “ “ You are a Macmiller, I heard your family is loaded. “ Klein laughed, Jeane saw how carefree and cute he appeared when he laughed. “ What else have you heard? “ “ That you can get away with anything, You've got hands in very high places. “ “ You don't say, is there more? “ He gestured for Jeane to sit on the stool next to him. “ Don’t change the topic, how are you the box? “ “ I may come from a very loaded family as you call it, and play a sex game, but that doesn't mean that it completely defines me. Ever heard the saying to not judge a book by its cover? “ He looked at her directly eye

Her Game; His Obsession

Her Game; His Obsession

I stood, nodded to the guard, and walked back to my cell. Jonathan would know about this visit within the hour. That was the thing about people who played these games…they always underestimated how far ahead the other side was already thinking. And Jonathan Hart was always thinking.

The Freak Is The Mate Of The Lycan

The Freak Is The Mate Of The Lycan

The cut on my shoulder was just a silvery-pink line. The only thing that hadn't healed was the cold, hard knot of rage in my chest. That, I nurtured. I read until my eyes burned. The books were not a gift. They were a threat. Pack Law and Governance. The Great Wars. Blood Oaths. It was the rulebook for a game I was already losing. And Ares, the game master, had not returned. He was letting me stew. Letting me arm myself, just to make the game more interesting.

RED HOT STORIES (A COLLECTION OF ST*AMY STORIES)

RED HOT STORIES (A COLLECTION OF ST*AMY STORIES)

"Tell me you're joking, Gerald.” He shrugged. "I'm not.” The laugh left my lips and a frown fell on my face. "Wait, you're really paying me for bringing drugs to you with a fucking Harry Potter ass-sounding toy book? Are you fucking messing with me?” A jingle sounded behind me, cutting Gerald short before he could speak. A young man walked in, whistling as he slowly approached the counter. “A customer," Gerald whispered as he threw the book in my arms. “Take the fucking book with you. Summon the demon. He's the only person that can help your fucked up life."

Island Kisses

Island Kisses

“At the end of every game, the points are added up and whoever has the most wins that round. So you’ve got to pick the right players and build the right team. But honestly, it sounds like you know enough about football to make it happen.” He smiled at me and I nearly melted into a happy puddle. Those green eyes made me feel like the most important person in the world. “I do know a fair amount about the game, I guess,” I admitted. “I saw you calling out those plays tonight,” Gabe said. “You know a whole lot more than you’re admitting.” “You might be right,” I agreed, sipping on my drink.

What the Game Revealed

What the Game Revealed

Glass shards were embedded all over the boy's arms and legs. His eyes reddened with distress, his voice trembling. "Gideon, you can do whatever you want to me. I owe you that. But Owen is innocent! "What gives you the right to treat him like this? From this day forward, we're not friends anymore." He ripped the watch I'd given him from around his wrist and threw it onto the floor. Before leaving, he deliberately stomped on it several times. Only after it was completely destroyed did he finally leave with Owen in his arms.

The Game of Truth and Lies

The Game of Truth and Lies

“Seven Chosen for the Game of Sins.” Farrah muttered as she read the headline in the paper. Her fingers trembled slightly as she turned the page. The ink was smudged, but she could still make out the words printed beneath the headline. [ The Rules of the Game ] [ 1. Only the Cursed may enter the Game. Those whose names are written upon the Statue of Avarra shall be pulled into the Trials. You cannot summon yourself, nor refuse the call once chosen. ]

The Wolf's Game

The Wolf's Game

We learned quickly what the Game demanded. It didn’t want strength or cleverness. It wanted choice. My brother was better at it than I was. He could see paths where I saw walls. He could smile at the herald and make it hesitate. When fear threatened to take him, he held onto kindness like it was armor. That was his mistake. The Game noticed him early. It always notices the winners first. By the third trial, we understood the truth: only one of us could leave. We never spoke it aloud. Some truths rot faster when exposed.
