The Game

The Game

I am seriously regretting this game I started. There is nothing I can do tonight, so I slowly rise from the hard floor and dust myself off. I eat a light dinner and make a cup of hot tea. Next, I head upstairs to take a long bath. I begin filling the clawtooth tub with warm water and add in some of my favorite rose bath oils before lighting candles around the room. This is my sanctuary and exactly what I need right now. I lean my head back and breathe in the rose and amber from the candles as Frank Sinatra’s smooth melodic voice fills the room. I was just about to drift off to sleep when suddenly I felt a shift in the atmosphere. Power, raw angry power was headed my way. I see no point in ge

Fatal Game of Hearts

Fatal Game of Hearts

" The room fell silent for a split second, then erupted into even louder congratulations. Everyone turned to my parents, offering their praise. They stood there, stunned. Archer had never been a strong student. Getting into a decent college would’ve been a stretch. They had already planned to send him abroad after graduation. They never expected me to hand them a surprise like this. Archer shot to his feet, screaming, "That’s impossible! How could he be the top scorer?!" He rushed toward her, grabbing onto her clothes, desperate. "Didn’t you say the night before the exams, you and he spent the whole night at a hotel?!"

The Girl who changed the Game

The Girl who changed the Game

I wrote: subject appears unaware of surroundings. Then the puck came out of nowhere a teammate's stray shot, fast and low and without looking, without breaking the backward drift, Declan Mercer redirected it with one casual flick of his stick toward the net, where it hit the back corner so cleanly that the goalie didn't even flinch in time. The team responded with the specific noise of people who have seen this before and are annoyed they're still impressed by it. He hadn't looked down once. I crossed out appears unaware of surroundings.

Hearts at the Helm:A Billionaire's Gamble on Love

Hearts at the Helm:A Billionaire's Gamble on Love

The kind of emotional, impulsive move the old Clarkson would have never, ever made. The new Clarkson, the one who had something real to lose, cut the engine. He pulled a black cap low over his forehead, his heart hammering against his ribs not with fear, but with a ferocious, focused intent. He was no longer the king in his tower, moving pieces on a board. He was a man stepping into the alley to fight for what was his. The game had changed. And Clarkson Roberts was finally all in. ---

Goal! The Manchester United Captains

Goal! The Manchester United Captains

It wasn’t just good reading of the game. It was knowledge. They knew the play. Maya’s heart pounded, but she didn’t flinch. She raised her hand to give an almost invisible signal. Switch. The team changed tactics instantly. Quietly. Seamlessly. From that moment on, every set-piece was altered. Small changes. Different angles. Unexpected shifts. And slowly, Blackburn’s defense started to fall apart. They hesitated. They moved late. Their positioning faltered. The confidence they had at the start disappeared.

The Forsaken Alpha

The Forsaken Alpha

I step closer, and just like Selena, Zara backs away. She looks around and shifts her weight from one leg to the other. "How about we play a game? Onyx thinks that would be fun." A corner of my lip twitches, but I don't let it break into a smile. "I'll play the game if you want me to," Zara places a hand on my chest and slowly slides it down. Before she can get any lower, I grab her wrist. "You misunderstood me. The game I want to play is called the heart. Do you know the rules?" I press against her body as a loud moan leaves Zara's lips.

Found the author reading Red Riding Hood, this book is different, chapters more affordable. It doesn't go in too many details and I love the flow of it. Will wait for future updates, I'd suggest this book to anyone, worth to read! Kane's and Selena's relationship will form into something beautiful.

Paranormal romance with steamy scenes just what I like to read. Worth the cost; good length and don’t get skimmed on the chapter length which I appreciate. Enjoyed the story; do wish they had more communication so there would be less misunderstandings though.

The Way He Looked at Me

The Way He Looked at Me

“What? No. Absolutely not.” “Yes,” I say. “Look.” I tilt my head toward Beth and Jace. They’re standing too close close enough that the air between them feels charged. Not friendly. Not innocent. It’s that dangerous, electric shift that only happens when something old suddenly turns into something new. When the rules quietly change. Tyler sees it. I know he does. I also know throwing a game is probably agony for him. Still he does it. So do I. The end comes fast. The board tips, pieces scatter, chaos erupts. Defeat, dramatic and deliberate.

The Tempting Nun

Christiana didn’t respond. But inside— Something had changed. Not broken. Transformed. And Joy could see it. Which meant one thing. The game wasn’t over. It had just become… Far more dangerous.
