He quickly typed a command, bringing up the virtual map of Aethelgard he had just shown the ghost army. He overlaid the physical coordinates of the Ash-Fall Bridge onto the virtual game world. The screen shifted, rendering a 3D model of a massive, imposing stone fortress situated over a raging river of magical blue energy.

It groaned open. Dust and the scent of old rain filled the chamber. Inside, the walls were lined with faded murals. Silver wolves beneath a white moon. Shadowed wolves beneath a red one. And at the center of the floor, a stone map. Afnan stepped closer, her breath catching. The map had been carved directly into the ground, its lines etched deep into the black stone. Mountain ranges. Forest borders. Rivers. Bloodstone. And two circles. One beneath the fortress.
