Ghost Doppelganger Novels & Stories

The woman who looked exactly like me? No one? I turned and walked out, my heart racing, my thoughts a storm. So that was it. I was just a ghost in her image. A shadow cast by a woman I knew nothing about. A doppelgänger. And suddenly, the walls of this mansion felt colder than ever. I didn’t know who she was. But something in Alexander’s eyes told me— She wasn’t gone. And whatever story she left behind… I was now part of it. Whether I wanted to be or not.

Something like vengeance. Outside, the forest stirred with the movements of her double. The clone walked as she did, carried her scent, moved with her very essence. Caelum had set the spell-bound creation wandering the woodlands where Evander’s hunters prowled. They followed eagerly, snarling at every turn, certain they were closing in on the true Nyx. And each time, the doppelgänger slipped just far enough to lure them deeper into cursed ground. Sometimes into briar mazes that swallowed their footing. Sometimes into hollowed trees where shadows whispered madness. Always away from Nyx herself.

“You can’t even touch me. But you can see him.” The darkness parted, and Vincent froze in shock. A shape began to step out from the dark—a tall figure, broad shoulders, face carved with a familiar sharp jawline, and his deep cruel eyes that held an unsettling gentleness; it was a reflection of himself, only paler and more hollowed out. The Ghost of Him. His double tilted its head slightly. “You hunt like a beast, but she doesn’t need one; she needs a shadow.” Vincent lunged forward with flashing claws, but his double didn’t budge—his strike passed right through the body, tearing only at empty air.

I lied about my age and ended up in a secret online relationship with one of the biggest names in esports. He was nothing like his public persona. In public, he was cold and aloof. Online, though, he flirted with me nonstop. When he got worked up, he even said he'd be my good boy. Then my nineteenth birthday came and went, and my wolf still hadn't awakened. Most werewolves shifted for the first time at sixteen. Even late bloomers awakened by eighteen. I couldn’t let Adrian find out I was defective, with no wolf at all. So I broke up with him and blocked him everywhere. Months later, while staying with my best friend Chloe, I heard her older brother speak outside the bedroom. I had heard that

The quicksand feeling overwhelms me along with the high pitch hum that blocks out whatever she’s trying to say. I need to get to Bronx. Clash and Crusher need back up. Ghost howls and comes forward. We can’t catch our breath. We fall to the floor and claw at the air. Leni tries to subdue me. Her face morphs into someone unrecognizable. It’s the hag. She glamoured to look like Leni? How was I fooled so easily? Ghost jams his claws into the imposter’s arms. Hags disguised as doctors and nurses attack us, coming in from all sides.

Mouth split too wide into a jagged grin. “Robert,” it said. Before he could scream, the thing slammed him into the wall. Hard. His back hit tile with a sickening crack. Clawed hands slashed across his belly—deep, brutal. Blood splattered across the sink and floor. He gasped, voice barely a whisper. “What… are you?” The doppelganger leaned in. “I’m the part of your soul where evil dwells.” Another slash—this one across the throat. Blood gushed in a thick arc. He tried to scream but only gurgled.

Eloisa asked as she hugged Reagan possessively. “I should be asking.” Marcia squinted her eyes. “Mars, this is Eloisa… Hannah’s doppelganger. I think she already mentioned that to you.” Marcia nodded. Hannah mentioned it. But doppelganger? Is it real? “And where’s Hannah?” She asked as Reagan pointed above. She headed back to Gordon’s unit after waving at them and her man swung the door open. “I was thinking where you are.” Gordon took the paper grocery bags as he glanced at Reagan’s door.

" Two guards in black immediately moved in, ignoring Nellie's struggle as they dragged her toward the exit. Around them, guests lifted their phones, snapping pictures and laughing under their breath. Voices overlapped, mocking how pathetic the Scott siblings were, laughing that people like them might as well be dead. What they didn't know was that I was already dead. And Nellie was suffering from the same illness I had. She didn't have much time left either.

The mirrored walls around her shimmered – and then, like smoke clearing, the reflection stepped forward. Her face. Her body. Her eyes. But cleaner. Sleeker. Hardened. Hair slicked into a perfect knot. Eyes lined with mechanical precision. No scar under her jaw. No softness in her voice. “Hello, Elena,” said the Revenant’s double. The digital twin. “Or should I say... what's left of you.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Elena flexed her fingers, grounding herself. “I didn’t think you’d come,” the twin said, stepping closer. “Though, I hoped you would. It’s rare, you know. For a ghost to confront its reflection”.

"For a second… I thought she could be a way out for us." That made him turn. "A way out?" he repeated, his brows knitting slightly. "What do you mean?" Isabelle shifted beside him, propping herself up on one elbow so she could look down at him. There was something strange in her eyes—something calculating, but also… hopeful. "Have you heard of doppelgangers?" she asked. "Someone who looks exactly like you?" Ryan let out a quiet breath of amusement. "I've heard the myths. If two doppelgangers meet…" he said lazily, his gaze drifting over her face, "…the one who sees the other first is doomed to meet a tragic fate. Death, sometimes."
