My jaw moves on its own and with the same one I pierce her throat, I didn't want to get to such strangers but she left me no choice. Veronica falls to the floor bleeding to death, I place a cloth on the wound I created and slowly begin to roll her body on the carpet on which they are bleeding. The cabin was small, comfortable, and beautiful, but more elegant than it should have been, I had given my team time to go through the whole apartment as pest-killing agents. I get a call from Marcus as soon as I get the woman's body in the car. "Tell me what they found?" I ask him sternly as I cross my arms. There wasn't a drop of blood on her body.

Ellie Standing outside in the sun was not doing anything for Ellie's upset stomach. Even though it was still wintertime and hadn't gotten particularly hot yet, she still felt like the sun was directing all of its rays at her. She was doing her best to go through the day's lesson with the girls who'd come to train with her to be Lunas, but at the moment, she wanted to go back inside and teach them how to take a nap. Karina POV Right on cue, Victoria Hayden, the pack's elder Luna, appeared at the door. She greeted Lila with a warm, affectionate smile before her eyes landed on me, scanning me up and down like I was something she'd scraped off her shoe. Her voice was pure honey when she spoke to Lila. "Having fun, dear? Just make yourself comfortable." Then, turning to me, her tone instantly iced over. "This is Karina, a manager from our company. She's here on work stuff."

"She can die out there for all I care." The call ended. *** My body still lay at the intersection. The crowd was gone. Only the driver stayed beside me. My lips had turned purple. So had my fingers, curled stiff against the frozen ground. Dirt and ice were packed under my nails.

But after what she pulled on my birthday, I did wish she would meet a terrible end. And look at fate—just a few hours later, she ended up dying in the worst way possible, her body burned so badly that there was nothing left for DNA testing. I try again, scooting closer and placing my hand on his shoulder. “I know you miss them, Damon. But they’re gone. Do you think they would want to see you like this? No, they wouldn’t. Elara and Cora cared so much about you. Trust me when I say this—they would be heartbroken to know you’ve stopped taking care of yourself.”

Karina would succumb to the poison long before then. Charlie and Kael started talking in circles of what could be done, always coming back to the same answer that it was nothing. Griffin stayed silent the whole time, his eyes watching Karina with a kind of desperate despair as he kissed her knuckles. They were all losing focus and couldn’t think clearly with Karina’s death hanging over everyone’s heads. I looked down at Karina on her bed, she looked so frail and sick that something in me broke.

Elena's POV "My life is a little complicated right now and I wish now more than ever that you were here so I could talk to you," I whisper. The light breeze in the air whips my brown locks to the side. The smell of the coming winter lingers in the Seattle air. I grab the sides of my black coat and pull it tighter around me in a futile attempt to keep the cold air from touching my already trembling body. I look at the marble stone and run my fingers along the white, engraved words that read, 'In Loving Memory of Jessica Danvers April 15, 1968 - October 21, 2009, Beloved wife, mother, daughter and friend.'

She had called Sophie a bastard and talked about how she walked all over that bitch Tina, and Madam Barnes promptly succumbed to shock, clutching her chest as she collapsed to the floor. The hag must have really loved Tina and her little bastard! At that moment, Linda simply sat on her chair, watching coolly as the hug convulsed on the floor in agony. As her breathing became labored, she suffered utter anguish before she eventually died. It was only after Linda watched Madam Barnes croak and was sure that she was really dead that she cried and finally called for help. I wanted to sleep and forget whatever these were that were aching my chest, my head and my whole body itself! I threw the shopping bags beside my bed and dropped my tired body on my soft foam. Fine, it's really better that we're friends. Forget him, stop it already Karin. Just ground your phone for more days. I grounded my phone since before sembreak, not minding if he's still texting me. I didn't get so see him since the school days ended. Even if maybe that would be the last time I'd see him. Or maybe the next we'd meet would be Kiana's wedding. Or what.

Austin lay in Cara's arms as blood spilled from his wound and stained her pristine white wedding dress. "I'm so sorry that I've ruined your wedding just before I die… I'm so sorry…" Cara pressed her hands against Austin's wound anxiously, and he thought he could vaguely hear her sobbing. "Don't talk anymore… I've asked Noah to call the doctor. Just hang in there…" Austin shook his head. He knew that he was dying. "Cara, this way, you'll always remember me for the rest of your life. I guess my death is worthwhile, after all."
