Leon panted, scanning the dim corridor as his breath came in uneven bursts. Suddenly, a faint figure emerged out of the shadows—the female ghost. Her face was blurred and indistinct, her presence otherworldly. She didn’t speak but raised a hand that glowed faintly blue, pointing silently in a specific direction. Leon froze, instinctively stepping back half a pace. But time was slipping through his fingers, and hesitation was a luxury he couldn’t afford. Clenching his jaw, he forced himself to follow the ghost’s lead.

Is this place open for anyone to visit? I decide against leaving the room and it turns out to be a good choice. Ghost enters the room after a few minutes. Or should I call him Andrie? He puts a box on my bed and my eyes widen, reading the words printed in bold, ‘Night vision, Motion detection, Smart surveillance camera.’ “What the fuck is that?” I demand, my heart pounding. “I don’t want a goddamn camera pointed at me.” “It’s that or the cuffs,” Ghost replies, his voice eerily calm but eyes flashing with warning. “And watch your damn tone.”

” I said, hoping that there was also a way to communicate. I felt the ghost on my left slide off the bed and suddenly my bedroom door opened. I figured she wanted me to follow, so I did. The ghost led me to my sister’s room, whom I’m happy to say was away at college. Once there I spotted a drawer slowly open. Upon inspection all I found was a diary buried under a pair of winter gloves, a couple of tubes of lipstick and an oddly colored light bulb. Picking up the light I wondered if this was all I needed. Heading back to my room, I quickly changed the light in my bedside lamp. As I watched, the blinds in my room closed, shutting out the sunlight and then the lamp turned on. It was an ultra vi

So I reach out to my powers and slowly, light slips out of my body. Growing brighter and brighter at each pacing second. I hear her giggle behind me. “The thing I like about my nightlings is that they aren’t affected by any type of light.” “I never said that it was what I wanted.” I close my eyes tight, only for me to hear shrieks and I laugh. “Bright light hurts the eyes.”

Another figure stood in the hallway, dark and silently as she crept towards the door. My heart was so loud I was surprised she couldn't hear it. Shadows stretched between us, concealing the persons face and body of details. No one else has sneaked out a in the mid of the night before except Ember. Debating for a second I step back into the kitchen, my feet silent of the cold floor. I wait til I hear feel the cold air drifting into the kitchen and the soft sound of a door closing before glancing into the hallway again.
