"Since when did you ask for help from a murderer?" "Look Rick, believe me,I'm not Ariana. I'm not from this world" "You from Mars?",I asked getting fed up of her stupidity. "No,it's a parallel world Rick,Zino city and Zino village. At first it was confusing, but now I know,I'm very sure of that.In my world you're my boyfriend, you have tattoos on your left arm and a scar under it but here it's totally different". I couldn't understand what she was rambling about.

I placed her down on a bed of grass and made a makeshift cover for my groin with the cut fabric. The weather was warm, an extreme contrast to where we came from. We couldn't have parted for more than seventy-two hours. How then did she find herself in such a situation in just a little time? Unless … like I had guessed this must be an alternate universe with a different time count. I was aware there are countless realms in the universe – alternate universes even, whereby beings could live a different version of themselves. Or a rebirth of a soul in another body, another realm. “It will be much like it was at the World’s Fair opening, Evelyn. Simply follow my lead. Can you do that?” Evelyn’s pulse kicked up a notch. Their trip to the World’s Fair had been like visiting an alternate existence. It went beyond simply politely 'familiar'. That had been an imaginary World of Tomorrow where the natural hierarchy and boundaries of wealth and social status had been erased, like the idealized Democracity or the egalitarian Futurama. Where people attracted to one another were free to explore that gift in each other's company without question.

At each vertex of the cube that she touched, the pea sized blue dot near it would glow and, in response, the pea sized blue dot inside the triangular pyramid would glow too in the correspondent corners of the library. With the eight vertices of the library defined, Susan took the 'blank' crystalline cube and set it on top of the other one, and with a wave of her hand she mirrored the contents of one cube to the other. She then went to her briefcase and took two metallic rectangular boxes from it, followed by a metallic looking keyboard and a slim monitor. 'I love the fact that the underworld's technology is more advanced in some regards than the human's. The extra that underworld's technolog

In the Shadow-Earth's archives, they had seen the Great Bifurcation—the moment where, in another reality, the "Mimic War" hadn't ended in a stalemate. It had ended in total human obsolescence. At 04:00 Prime-Time, a second rift tore open, not over the Andes, but in the thin atmosphere above the Arctic "Thinking City." This wasn't a jagged bruise like the first; it was a Precision Cut.

Making a mental note to train myself how to make a portal last longer once we get home. Once close, I entered the portal first, making sure it is safe before pulling Ava's hand when I turn, and instantly a murderous growl escapes my lips when Zane appears and wraps his hand around Ava's neck, forcing her back into the abyss. I only managed to get Ava's hand into the portal before she is ripped off of me and the portal closes. Fuck! Just as I was transported back to the physical world, I jolted up heaving in air into my lungs just as my eyes flew open.

Had the world lost its tilt or was it suddenly in a tailspin? I couldn’t decide as the scene in which I was captive lost touch with reality. Somehow I was a part of this. It was my life, yet the power was shifting—an alternate universe, one where Bryce and Suzanna were no longer my tormentors but my saviors.
