I stayed silent. "The apartment where she had that accident was a company unit assigned to her," Stan said. "It's been empty ever since the accident. Later, the company wanted to take the place back, but the staff they sent over all got badly spooked. Over time, rumors that the place was haunted started to spread." He looked at me, his gaze sharpening. "But that changed when you showed up. When I first saw your rental address, I was shocked. I honestly thought you'd be running out of there in tears within three days. But you didn't.

Phoebe whispered, her fingers dinging into her skin. Phoebe raised her chin, her eyes were half-shut. Suddenly, Mr. Grim reaper appeared behind us. “Well, well, well. What do we have here? Hiding something?” With one push, he pulled me away from Phoebe due to the effect of the wolfsbane. I tried to stand up, but my legs felt like stones glued to the ground. “Let’s see those eyes, shall we?” He said, drawing Phoebe closer to him. My body trembled, my heart racing faster than a motorcycle.

Martha turns around and gets a bowl of rice and served it on the table. "Mommy it's true, but Nanny just didn't see it. He was a short old man with a long beard and scary eyes and nails like a monster, I felt like he was going to eat me! Huhuhuhu....." Phoebe covers her face with a white throw pillow from their couch and cries endlessly. She cries with fear, she has never encountered such a creepy creature before. Amelia and Martha are suspiciously puzzled about Phoebe's story and were surprised as Amelia's cellphone vibrated from the table.

Before the guy could answer, Ace took out his gun and shot the guy in his head. "Anyone else got something to say?" He asked earning complere silence. "So, as I was saying—", he placed his gun on the table infront of him, "Meet Alexia Hale. Some might know her as the ghost. She'll be working with us for a while. Any questions?" He ended as he looked at me while everyone muttered a 'No boss.' "You're all dismissed." He ordered and everyone was out of the room. "So, I'll be staying here?", I asked.

After I was done peeling the apple, I munched on it and began chatting with her, seemingly nonchalantly, like I was just talking about the weather, while telling her everything that had happened in my past life. Lacey's eyes were first filled with terror, then confusion, then shock. When I was done with my story, Lacey said with much difficulty, "Impossible… You couldn't have had a past life… That's all bullshit! "I'd never have killed you… I'd never… You shouldn't believe it… You're making a stupid mistake!" I threw the apple core into the trash can and wiped my hands clean. "Don't be stupid. Why would I ever kill you? Your boyfriend will do the job instead.

I call back. "Good!" Phoebe grins, then winces and touches her throat. "Ow. Still can't smile properly." Even with everything hanging over us, the missing body, the resurrection, the mysterious message, I find myself smiling too. But deep down, I know we're in deep shit. Multiple kinds of deep shit, actually. And I have a feeling we haven’t seen the worst of it yet.

She reached out, trying to touch the fleeting glow, but her fingers grasped at nothing. "Nathan, if there's a next life, I won't betray you again…" The light of the sunset slowly faded, and the cell was swallowed by darkness once more. Through the haze, a voice seemed to whisper. "If there's a next life, I don't want to meet you again. Goodbye, Helena…"

Marcus, the quiet guy from accounting leaned against the door, arms crossed, with a bitter smirk twisting his lips. “McAllen,” he said. “You’ve been looking real happy lately. I see you enjoy your late night with the boss.” My stomach dropped. “What the hell are you talking about?” He stepped closer, I could see the jealousy in his eyes. “ I saw you leaving the private elevator.
