There was more than 30,000 dollars. Lucas’ face lit up. “The fortune teller was right! After the life swap, even money is falling from the sky into my hands!” Zoe pouted a little. “That damn woman. How does she always get so lucky?” Perhaps her greed was first sparked when the fortune teller revealed my fate. Lucas planted a heavy kiss on her cheek. “Honey, this life is all yours now. I’ll make sure we get rich!” They quickly stuffed the money into their bag and dashed into a store. Lucas bought two latest phones.

I pointed out quietly. "Touché. But I did it for a bet. Him? Who knows—maybe he *is* the dog." I laughed, almost forgetting the storm still churning inside me. Until—through the crowd of passing students—I saw *him*. Xander. He descended the library steps, dressed in a black jacket and a gray scarf wrapped around his neck like armor. His gaze stayed fixed ahead, unwavering. And when we were just a few feet apart, there was no smile. No nod. No acknowledgment that we had ever shared a night, a pain... a secret.

I’m captivated by curiosity to know what Ghost is insinuating. “Um, yeah…okay, just give me a minute to get dressed. Wait out here and I’ll be right out.” I say to him in a slow manner. I close the door and lock it. I swiftly go to X’s bedroom. I pull out my shorts that I wore earlier sliding them up my legs. Although Ghost seems a lot nicer right now and almost seems caring, I trust him for nothing. I rip open X’s nightstand drawer and pull out his Glock .45, it’s loaded and safety on. I tuck the handgun in the back of my denim shorts. I rummage through X’s closet, pulling out his black hoodie to better conceal the gun behind me and zipping it up past my chest. I have an abs

His gaze with the extra slow speed of a snail turned around in the direction of the cold coming from and his eyes upon seeing the ice like sharp eyes of the handsome and powerful man in front of him. He gulped in fear before averting his gaze which then landed on his wife standing beside him who had a sly grin on his face. Beth was trying hard not to laugh upon seeing her husband's frightened gaze. She loved him but sometimes he can just be too silly. "He....he...he....he's here?" Ryan almost whispered, pointing towards Xander as of he just saw a live ghost coming out of a horror movie and scaring him with his cold eyes. It was still early in the morning so how can a ghost be here?

I didn't know what he was thinking, and if I could read midns like he could, then I guess he wouldn't have had anything to keep to himself. Wolves couldn't read minds. We only went with our instincts, and our nostrils that could go lengths, while vampires could do their stuff, and even read minds. That was what Xander could do, he usually read the minds of people, those girls that loved to he around him, and just took their heats and read them. Though he wasn't able to do that to me most of the time, I knew that I couldn't have done it either. Why the hell was he suddenly gloomy, and why was he looking that way?

Alex’s chest nearly brushing mine, radiating a heat that makes my skin tingle. He doesn’t look away. His jade eyes are dark, focused entirely on me, searching for permission—or maybe he already knows he has it. His large, calloused hand cupping the back of my neck. His thumb traces the line of my jaw, a touch so light, yet so grounding that it makes my breath hitch. “If we’re being honest, Xander…” he murmurs, his voice dropping into that deep, gravelly register that makes my wolf howl in recognition. I swallow hard.

“That’s my line.” They kissed, not rushed or desperate, but with the tentative precision of two people tracing the edges of a new map. It was a language, and each touch was a question, each breath a dare. In the dark, Carolina found the shape of his scarred shoulder, the old wound that had nearly ended him twice, and pressed her lips to it. Xander shook with silent laughter, pulled her closer, and for the first time in a long time, she let her guard shatter.

Rick Mack paused sighting someone from afar, he walk out of his sturdy, taking smooth steps towards the library "Dad" He turn but saw no one "Daddy" "Sasha, are you there?" He ask in alarm, turning the door knob of the library "Sasha" He stop himself from opening the door and pull down the lever beside the door, he bring his gun out, Sasha wouldn't pop in out of the blue he knew that. Though Xander is the ghost of the mansion he wouldn't come here unannounced "Dad" He hears the distinct voice of Sasha.

Ghost explained. I closed my eyes and stopped pretending, letting out a sigh of pain and tiredness. It took a few minutes for us to arrive because Ghost was moving slowly, precisely so as not to hurt me anymore. I know the exact moment I enter the Imperial bedroom and open my eyes, Ghost lets go of my waist and I stagger, but I make it to the bed and lie down.
