She lunged at me, her face a sickly pale green, her eye sockets empty black pits. I stood my ground. "He's not coming back," I said softly. "You can be at peace now." The ghost froze. Her shoulders trembled, and she let out a faint whimper, as if a great weight had been lifted. The black mist around her dissipated. Her form turned faint, then transparent, until she dissolved into a wisp of light that drifted toward the rose bushes. Lorenzo's eyes lit up. "Damn, where'd you learn that trick?"

The atmosphere around the three of us as we sit in a cafe is more than awkward, as I refuse to make eye contact with someone in particular. Romeo knows that I live a double life as Felisha Hughes and I now know that Ethan Sky is Romeo. And Xander, who I recently confided in, now knows Romeo’s true identity. As the haze of pleasure fades, I wait for the regret, for the guilt to creep in. But it doesn’t. Instead, there’s a warmth in my chest, a quiet sense of peace as I look at Ghost lying beside me. His gaze is soft now, his usual cocky smirk replaced with something deeper, more genuine. Maybe, just maybe, I don’t have to pretend this meant nothing. Maybe, for once, I can let myself have this. I relax into his hold, my breathing slowly steadying.

He pressed it in slowly, then pulled back repeatedly. “F*ck,” Xander let out under his breath. Another groan released from his lips. He gave her neck another small bite, this time releasing a small gasp from Athlea. She was getting wet, and her body began to fill with electricity. Her hand found its way to the back of his head, pressing it in. A smirk brushed Xander’s lips, then he stopped. He put his mouth close to her ears, then said, “But because today is a special day, you will go unpunished.”

Grace shot him a death glare in return but he only chuckled as he found her cute. All of a sudden, his laughter died down. Grace turned cautious and sifted his expressions because the man was unpredictable. She noticed the sinister glint in his eyes. Dread pooled in her stomach when his face abruptly turned pure dark making her regret her existence. But his next move surprised her. Pulling her lower lip with his thumb, Xavier leaned closer and pressed a soft kiss there. The move was so sudden and unexpected. Grace was embarrassed but the clouds of red hearts quickly dispersed away when he stabbed his teeth in her soft flesh.
