BLOGGER’S OFFICE – NEXT MORNING The office was small but modern—glass partitions, whiteboards filled with scribbled names and arrows, phones ringing in intervals, and the faint buzz of multiple monitors running all at once. At the far end of the room, a young woman with sharp eyes and a short pixie cut—Adaora, better known as “GistGoddess” to the public—clicked open an encrypted email flagged as “Anonymous Submission – High Priority.” The subject line read: “THE KAREEM BABY SCANDAL – REAL FATHER EXPOSED.”

I try to breathe through my mouth, but it doesn’t help. My stomach twists. I need to pee, but I can’t bring myself to use the toilet in front of everyone. “Ew gross,” a big woman says from the toilet. She had seen enough crime dramas to know. “Hmmm.” She scoffed.
