As we stepped outside, the air grew colder, unnaturally so, and an unsettling stillness hung in the atmosphere.
"This way," Kael gestured, leading me to a clearing just beyond the stone walls. My breath hitched as I took in the scene before me.
Embedded in the ground was a massive, ominous footprint, far larger than any human or beast could leave. The edges of the print glowed faintly with a sinister energy, pulsating like a heartbeat. Around it lay the lifeless bodies of mages, their faces twisted in agony.
"They tried to hold it down," Asher explained, his voice low, his gaze fixed on the bodies. "But whatever it was… they didn't stand a chance."
