Violet shouted as she felt something ominous rise within her. She left them to do her bidding as she got out her crystal and tried to gaze into the ball. She only saw darkness and she almost yelled in frustration. She opened a tray that carried different poultices and began adding them to the mixture in Elise's hands. She collected the bowl and began chanting. The vulture began to shake and say Luna stone, Luna stone in a hoarse voice. Bianca backed away while Elise looked at the animal with interest. Violet suddenly had to stop mixing when her phone rang. “ It is your mate Elise and he is asking for you.”

All I knew was that the weight from last night hadn’t followed her here, and that was good. She was good. They’re carnivorous.” The soldier and the others froze, perplexed. He didn’t attempt it again.

I followed her line of sight but saw nothing. Vines rose up from the floor and wrapped around the air. Violet’s arm pulled backwards, bringing the vines closer. A pained grunt was heard, making me realize that it was actually someone that we couldn’t see. “Pull your gift back or else these vines will turn into wolfsbane. Now, that’s some pretty painful shit from what I’ve heard. You have fifteen seconds to decided,” Violet told the invisible person. To make her point and psych out whoever the fuck it was, a new vine appeared as the seconds ticked by.

If Violet got hurt, if she… if anything happened to her, he would bring a bloodbath to their doorstep. And so would I, even if he didn’t order it. I was walking through the garden on my way to the main hall when I caught a glimpse of Violet inside the fortress. She was so beautiful, so radiant, a goddess walking among us.
