Sunlight poured in through the open ceiling, making the platform that overlooked the cliffside and its arcane looking circle, glitter like polished opalite. I started scouring the books that lined the shelves, pulling them with both my hands and magic, flipping through pages as my eyes darted between books. With a wave of my hand I sent a book on potion recipes and another on cursed objects back onto the shelves. A slight headache throbbed at my temples by the time I found what book I was looking for. There was no missing that strange symbol, the one Dain had showed us painted on the wall. I flipped to the beginning of the chapter and stared down at the word, ‘Illusion spells.’

Amy
Such a well written book and the story really drags you in, I’ve enjoyed reading this so much and hope a sequel comes out. I really feel this book should be printed, I’d read it over and over again. The book is long but it’s well worth it.
Therese Dahlqvist
The author has a fantastic ability to keep me on the edge of my seat and a great ability to describe the scenery around the characters. I find the characters to be mostly well defined and consistent throughout the book. There are some typos and incorrect grammar, but not enough to disturb me complet

Rejected by My Mate, Fated to the Lycan King

Rejected by My Mate, Fated to the Lycan King

Yesterday had gone well, but there’d been a moment where it was touch and go and my blood runs cold every time I think about what could have happened if I lost control and the mages got their powers back. “What’s wrong?” Soren finally asks with a small frown. I’ve been pacing like a caged tiger and he’s been very patiently trying to ignore me while attempting to read. Hilda found the book in the huge library Arlo’s pack has tucked away in an underground fortress and tasked him with checking whether it contains anything useful. Apparently we’re not the first werewolves to have a run-in with mages. The book is titled: Illusions and How to Dispel them. So far it hasn’t offered up anything of pr

A Bear's Mirrored Romance

A Bear's Mirrored Romance

The section where books on lore and the supernatural appeared the most disturbed. “Well, that confirms it. Someone, I presume Professor Digby, has gone through all the books on anything that refers to the supernatural. Ghost, fairies, and witchcraft. None of the books appear marked by use as far as I can see and there're no spaces where there might be a book missing. Before you ask, no, there’s no grimoire, and nothing wrapped in human skin as far as I can tell.”

Aurora and the Heart of Magic

Aurora and the Heart of Magic

I said and swept the things off the table. The bottle of rum fell on the ground and shattered while the goblet rolled towards my brother. I let out a dry laugh as I saw him jump over the goblet. The illusions were getting livelier by the day. I wouldn’t be surprised if Aurora appears and kissed me someday. Splash! A sudden deluge of water made me suck in my breath. I rubbed my eyes and looked at my brother standing with a glass of water. F***! He was real. Aslan had returned.

The Third Book

The Third Book

Lora started. "Honestly, I didn't have to think so much about what to write there. Like what I told our staff, I based it loosely on real events with some alterations and twists. You helped too, right?" Cela said. Lora smiled. "I was actually thrilled when Ivy told me that you were searching for Nate when you began writing it so I provided everything that I knew and heard about him after high school," she said. Cela listens attentively. Of all people, Lora is Nate's last contact in school and probably in the whole town. She provided a lot of information about him from way back. Those information were the basis of some important parts of the third book.

Let's Create a Wonderland (book 3)

Let's Create a Wonderland (book 3)

She wore the neck lace kerchief, yet he could tell it didn’t do her justice because it didn’t hide how her bosom almost spilled over the top of her bodice. He walked toward his uncle who came his way. “What can I do for you, Uncle?” “I thought you would like to play a game with us. Lady Sarah mentioned she had learned a new game that expands on Trundling Hoop and Roll, but she doesn’t quite remember how to play.” Henry ran his fingers through his salt and pepper colored hair and gave Gabe a crooked smile. “With you traveling so much, I was hoping you had learned this game as well.”

Finally Free: Book 1 Locked Up Lovers Series

Finally Free: Book 1 Locked Up Lovers Series

Miranda POV Its true, I do feel comfortable writing to Joel; more so than I have ever felt with anyone else in person or via mail or rather email since I haven't actually written a hand letter since I was in second grade and Mrs. Sendrick wanted us to learn about the history of the United States Postal Service. I should be thankful to her now that I have the skills to properly write and letter and address an envelope, but I can't forget how she mocked me, calling me “poor baby Miranda who lost her new crayons.” Those crayons were the one thing I wanted for Christmas back then and she laughed when they went missing. I’m pretty sure mean Bobby White stole them as he had the whole sixty-four c

The Sorceress and the Wolf Charmer

The Sorceress and the Wolf Charmer

She got out of the hut and came near to the fire. She threw the priced gold necklace in the fire. The gold necklace melted, embers appearing above, precious stones burning slowly. It all turned to a worthless liquid, flowing down the mountain, killing some of the lush plants with its sweltering heat.
