With a heavy sigh, he turned and walked ahead of me, disappearing into the staircase, leaving me with my resolute determination. Days later, I found myself serving a punishment in the scorching sun. CHAPTER 52- Mirabella’s POV Morning sunlight crept in through the tall windows, thin gold threads that painted lines across the rug. I woke slowly, blinking against it, but the weight of yesterday pressed heavy on my chest. I hated myself for it, but guilt gnawed at me. Guilt that I had betrayed him. The teacher shouted at Gio who was too busy glaring at Huxley. "Fuck you." Huxley mouthed those words to Giovanni behind the teacher back. "This piece of shit."
