The scent of it flooded the air, rich and coppery. She froze at the taste of it on her tongue, horror and desire warring in her chest. Kael only tightened his embrace, ignoring the blood dripping down his skin. “Take it,” he growled in her ear, voice hoarse. “If it eases the fire, take it. I won’t let you burn alone.”

As soon as the girl planted her foot yet again everything in front of her was illuminated beautifully. “Haha…wow!” Hazel noticed a long set of stairs that had electric candles on both the sides in white colour. In between the candles were placed large glass vases which had beautiful Lily flowers placed on them. There were several trees all around in both the sides of the stairs, which had beautiful circular hanging lights making them look surreal.

Lily reassured me from behind. I turned to her. “I can do whatever I want?” She nodded affirmatively. I looked at the first man, who had shown me red, white, and blue roses. “We’ll take your red roses,” I smiled at him before moving on to the next man, who had tulips in every shade. “We’ll take your purple tulips,” I decided, making him light up with a smile. The next man had lilies. “We’ll take your beautiful orange lilies,” I confirmed, picking one from the basket he had brought. “And you,” I pointed at the last man, “you can make the filler for the bouquets.” I turned to Lily, who smiled proudly at me. “This way we’ll have a lot of variety and many beautiful colors, all representing the K

Beneath it, the water reflects the scene like a liquid mirror, shimmering with the warm hues of the fading afternoon. Inside, a round glass table with intricately designed white-gold legs sits at the center, set for two. Lanterns, shaped like water lilies with golden lily pads, are placed strategically around the space, ready to bloom with light as dusk approaches. Fresh floral arrangements—soft white peonies, gardenias, and golden-tipped roses—adorn the table and the gazebo’s edges, their fragrance mingling with the gentle scent of the water below. The entire scene is something out of a fairytale—something crafted just for me.

It was a painting of water lilies—under a dusky sky, a single blue lily floated quietly on a lake covered in tangled reeds. The whole scene radiated peace and serenity. What made it even more magical was that the lily changed color depending on the viewing angle. Even Miles, who had seen just about everything, couldn’t help but murmur, “That’s a remarkable piece.” Sharon smiled at me. “So? Do you like it?” I nodded. “I really love it.” She looked pleased. “Good. I was worried it wouldn’t suit your taste, especially after Miles went all out the other day and got you those gorgeous jewels.”

Now he sounded almost tender, coaxing her like something precious he feared might shatter. Lily hesitated, her expression reluctant, then looked away. Dante took a bite himself, and the rich flavors of honey and smooth vanilla mousse bloomed across our tongue. Earnest’s Lycan joined in, and finally Lily leaned forward, licking the petal cautiously before biting deeper. Her eyes widened with pure delight. As she chewed, her fur began to glimmer softly, the glow growing brighter with each moment, as though the flower awakened something ancient and radiant within her.

She didn’t look at me as I approached her, but kept her eyes trained on the Gladiolus flowers and Peruvian lilies under the window to her right. Without a word, I lower myself to sit beside her as I wrap my arm around her shoulder. She never takes her eyes off of the flowers, but she leans into me, accepting my support and sympathy. “Did you know that Peruvian lilies represent grief, support, and healing and Gladiolus flowers represent hope and encouragement.?” She sighs.

The pristine flowers stood out starkly against his dark clothing, their elegant blooms catching the light. "Lilies?" Emmeline asked, surprise evident in her voice. She arched an eyebrow at Zavian as he approached her slowly. He never took his eyes off hers, and every stride was meaningful. "Aren't lilies for funerals?" Emmeline asked. Zavian stopped directly in front of her, close enough that she could feel the warmth radiating from his body. "Lilies are for celebrations too," he said. "Most people don't know their true meaning or why they're associated with funerals."
