The bridge started to shine with a bright silver light. There were still thousands of people inside the pods. They did not wake up. Their minds just followed Junes signal. They went into the bridges network. The General took a step back his eyes were really scared. "What are you doing?" he asked. June said "I am not the bomb we are the bomb." Her skin started to turn into light

The silhouette standing in the heart of the bridge seemed both familiar and utterly alien, a blend of man and beast. Its eyes, a piercing shade of emerald, seemed to see straight through us, assessing our strengths, our vulnerabilities, our every secret. Alex tightened his grip on my hand. "Sophia, we need to get across. But be ready for anything." I nodded, trying to push past the unease bubbling within me. "Who... or what is that?" Before Alex could respond, the guardian spoke, its voice a deep, resonant echo that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere. As the mansion sat perched on the hill, Sherry had not once left the place on foot. The wide bridge was made of reinforced steel and concrete, withstanding the harsh winds and rains that regularly lashed the Cross Empire. On either side of the bridge stood towering pillars with bulbs, placed at equal intervals. Walking across the bridge that connected the mansion to the mainland was both liberating and terrifying. The height was dizzying, and the bridge loomed over the sprawling city below. For someone with a fear of heights, it could easily be a nightmare.

The bridge shifted. No longer just a glowing seam in the sky. No longer a fragile connection barely holding two worlds together. The light condensed. Solidified. And then— A pathway appeared. A literal road of silver light stretching from the amphitheater across the sky toward the distant horizon of the human realm. The bridge was no longer an opening. It was a crossing. Stable. Steady. Alive. Gasps rose from the soldiers around the amphitheater as they stared at the glowing structure spanning the heavens.

Where the bridge parted with the two split ends, there was a twenty meter gap separating the speedsters from the creatures and water settled between them. The creatures roared at the two speedsters who were then able to see clearly what these things were.

With both arms outstretched and the strong wind blowing through my body, my voice and Loyd and Lucas' hunt boomed. The asphalt road I was walking on was cracked. The pillars supporting the bridge connecting Terrasen with the outer city were also broken. Slowly, there was a cracking sound, and blaammm! The bridge collapsed into the river. The wild werewolves and low demons fell into the wide river. The rest at the end of the bridge could not advance any further. They are trapped at the end of a broken bridge. I stood accompanied by Ailyn. We saw the wild werewolves and lower demons who couldn't advance to Terrasen begin to retreat back to the outcast city.
