In the distance, I could hear the noise from the paparazzi.
“You smoke?” He asked, voice gruff.
I finally managed to light the stick, even as my hands trembled badly. “It's a bad habit I'm trying to kick.” I grumble, “I only backslide when I'm especially stressed.”
“Hmm,” he hummed. “It's very unlike you.”
I frowned bitterly, turning my gaze away. “I'm full of surprises.”
Kao said nothing, he just stood there, staring, until I tossed the cigarette with a frustrated growl, crushing the butt under my heel.
