The building's silhouettes suddenly became the dark night sky and the lights from their windows suddenly were twinkling. "Isn't that beautiful?" I asked when I saw a broken stoplight, the red light was blinking and the green and yellow once didn't seem to work. I thought it was aesthetically pleasing, under the gloom of the night, along the empty streets and silently passing cars. The slow blinking of that stop light seemed to harmonize with the quietness of the evening. I looked at Edgar and he was frowning at the stop light. "Pretty much could cause traffic, goodness, that should be fixed," he said and I rolled my eyes at him.

I turn. A taxi. I nod and slide into the back seat. “Where to?” “Greenwich.” The word slips out before I can stop it. My eyes widen slightly. Why did I say that? I open my mouth to correct myself. But nothing comes out. The car starts moving. I lean my head against the window. Outside, the evening stretches across the sky. The sun is low, bleeding shades of orange and gold into the horizon. The buildings catch the light, glowing softly before fading into shadow. People move along the streets, their figures blurring as we pass.

The traffic light opened and, between daydreams, I didn't see it. I could only see the green flashing when a car behind me honked its horn, making me hit the gas pedal until I got home. I pushed the melancholy thoughts to the bottom. I could not allow myself to lament, repent, or anything else related to my egoism. I made a choice and she was helping me a lot. — Good evening, Greg. I heavily gasp and point my gaze to the road. “How do you know my name?” I ask. “Light’s green!” The man says. I look at him and gasping before I back my sight to the road. “Are you… are you wearing a wig?” I ask. “You have a green light. Let’s go, let’s go!” The man replies in a high voice, pointing the gun at me. I drive and follow the direction he gave me “Would you like my car?” I gasp.

Then, out of the blue, she asked, "Colt, do you remember that book you wrote, 'Catching Light'?" Colt knew the book like the back of his hand. He nodded. "Yeah, I do. What's up?" "On the title page, it says, 'Drawn to the light, my palm scorched; I released my grip, and I became my own beacon, just like you.'" Colt was caught off-guard by her sharp memory. "Yeah, that's the quote. What about it?" Yaslyn got straight to the point. "This 'light' you're talking about is Zyra, isn't it?"

Green asked herself. The unread book on her hand since before, Green smiled at it, especially at quotation written on the cover. "For those who have been hurted in the past," stated the quotation. From the very first glance, the novel has intrigued her. Green laughed at herself, her past was not beautiful, she had a lot of bad memories, and to get to this point it was not easy for her. The gratitude she had expressed to herself was a form of appreciation for her enduring to this day.
