The Peculiar Morass

The Peculiar Morass

Was it because of their plain-looking look or they are just too serious in their duty? "We're here. Stay here and I'll bring you back to the ladder. You should figure your way back from there." She watched him fade like a wind. She was just patiently waiting at the boat until he came back, this time he was with an old man's soul. They ferry back to the river of Styx. In Greek mythology, the River Styx is a god, a river that forms the boundary between the earth and the underworld. The rivers Acheron, Cocytus, Lethe, Phlegeton, and Styx converge in a large swamp in the center of the underground world, and sometimes this is also the case. According to Herodotus, the source of the Styx is near F

Antiquarian's Precious Find

Antiquarian's Precious Find

There was a story here the anthropologist in him itched to uncover for more reasons than one. Lingering in his vehicle, Jim watched as Teri drew the blinds in the RV’s bedroom, her seductive silhouette against them a succubus’ envy. When the last lights in the RV were extinguished, he started his Jeep, only turning on the headlights when he reached the highway. As he drove home, he recalled a long-forgotten story from Plato. In Greek mythology, humans originally had four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Jealous of their happiness and petty in the way Greek gods were, Zeus split them into two distinct parts, and condemned them to spend their lives lonely, in search of their missing

Supernatural Academy Series

Supernatural Academy Series

The class erupts in laughter. "Hardly." He turns and writes Gilgamesh. "Here, we have the earliest recording in the written word of a werewolf. Gilgamesh spurned a lover because she had turned her mate into a wolf. Though some argue that werewolves are more ancient than 2,800 BC That of Greek mythology with the Legend of Lycaon." I squirm in my chair, itching to open the textbook and take a peek. Greek myths had fascinated me last year, but I didn't recall this story.

I'm My Alpha's Fated Love

I'm My Alpha's Fated Love

Hmm, I was starting to like Daniel. "So, our first lesson is all about our origins," I looked at him and listened carefully to every word he said while taking notes in the small notebook he had given me earlier. "Werewolves or lycanthropes in Ancient Greek were made by the Goddess of the Moon, Selene. They were a group of people who could shape-shift into wolves." All I had thought was that werewolves were just a fragment of imagination, but they were real, especially now that I was living among them.

The Human Luna

The Human Luna

"That is a beautiful name. Which reminds me, this manor also has a name, doesn't it?" I nod. "Very true, the name of the manor is 'Cadmus', who was the first Greek hero in Greek mythology," I say as-a-matter-of-fact. "Yes, before you ask, my father was a great fan of mythology. He named all of our properties using names from different myths." She giggles and then thinks about something, I read the wheels spinning in her head. "If you could put a name to a new place, like a new house or new piece of land, what would it be?" She asks.

Destiny

Destiny

Ancient Greece 1200 B.C The darkness looms over her head, and she scurried away like the little mouse she was, the death of her sisters laid vivid and stark in her memories This was all her fault, if only she'd been less self centered, she'd have seen through Ananke's lies sooner “Do not forget your promise” she howled to the skies A harsh laughter boomed from the skies “Olympus is no more” Ananke's voice echoed through the skies “Your shrewd minions cannot save your skin now”

Alpha Zaine’s Rejection

Alpha Zaine’s Rejection

When I asked how old he is, all I got in response was a far away feeling of nostalgia and more memories of battles fought on horseback, with weapons that looked they belong in display cases. At dinner I mused over everything Ajax showed me. The pieces of the puzzle all slowly started falling into place. The origin of our kind is widely disputed, but Alpha Theo was firm in his belief that ancient Greek mythology was the key to understanding our history. He poured over text books, much as Zaine does today, convinced that the answer to the biggest questions were hidden within the pages.

Asterion

Asterion

I sighed, rubbing a hand over my face. He cocked his head, looking at me strangely. “What?” I asked. “Why did you say it like that? You put Poseidon above Zeus. No one does that. Zeus is the King of the Gods. He is placed above all.” he explained. “I exist because of Poseidon. He is the one that gifted the bull who would sire me to Minos. He is the one that cursed my mother with lust for the bull after Minos angered him. So it is the God of the Sea who set into motion my creation.” I explained.

Such an interesting & sweet twist to the Minotaur's story. Loved it! Asterion was so well depicted & emotionally drawn. The ending & epilogues were just so heart touching. I was very moved by the ending. Thanks for a very lovely, moving story.

I loved this story. I started reading it twice before, then just read it all way through over the last couple of days. I really want more like this! It was such a great twist on the Minotaur Myths and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Bullied By The Wolf Prince

Bullied By The Wolf Prince

That was Frank the monster’s thing. “We don’t even need to watch videos, Ian already showed me how to do it. You just press down on this trigger thingy, point at the area you want to paint and voila! It’s done.” She patiently explained how the whole contraption worked, up until the point of how to get paint into the eqiupment, but I didn’t hear a single word. I nodded in all the right places, at least I thought it was in the right places, but my mind was brimming over with questions. What was Kyros? It had introduced itself as a god. The fire god to be specific. Admittedly, my greek mythology was terrible, seeing as all I knew about it was from the few comics I read and the Thor movie I watc

The Bad Son-in-Law

The Bad Son-in-Law

Echidna Echidna is a creature from Greek mythology, often depicted as a half serpent woman who lives in a cave. Together with her husband Typhon, Echidna gave birth to various types of terrible creatures that appear in Greek mythology, because of that Echidna got the title Mother of all Monsters. Echidna and Typhon once fought against the Olympian gods but lost. Typhon was then sealed under Mount Etna. Meanwhile, Echidna and her children are left free to become a challenge for the next Greek heroes. But in the end Echidnya was killed by Argus Panoptes, a hundred-eyed titan.
