asked with hope that his Father would take their side. “You could have told us before running into the formation,” Blake said. He also was worried about them. “Augh, fine, I’m sorry.” Blake Jr. said he felt he had to apologize for his actions. The rest of the children followed and apologized also. After their apology, Claire’s mood improved, and she smiled at the children. “Now, tell me about your flames. Blake?” Claire asked earnestly, wanting to see their flames. “Mine.” Kyle rushed over and showed his deep red flame. “It is the Heavenly Fire Flame. Although it’s a common flame, it is hotter than your average flames.”

The witches closed in, their laughter echoing like a chorus of nightmares. Something inside Aqua snapped. A surge of dark energy, unfamiliar and terrifying, welled up within her. She felt her pendant grow hot against her skin, the clear crystal turning black as smoke. The air around her crackled with raw power as she turned back towards the attackers, her fear morphing into a blinding rage.

Blood dripped down my face but i didn't care, a mere cut couldn't count as victory to him. But it still made me burn with anger. I groaned angrily, lunging forward towards him. He wasn't quick to dodging my attack and so my blade sank right into his palm as a redult. Torben groaned as a result of the scathing pain but he didn't back down, i knew he wasn't going to. He retaliated with series of blows, each clearly aimed at my vulnerable spots but i dodged, making sure my movements were were well calculated. Torben might be a powerful witch, but there was clearly a lot he didn't know about fights.

The air shifted suddenly, followed closely by a low hum vibrated beneath my feet. Then—Flame erupted. Not red flame, not orange. But blue flame that roared to life, spiralling upward in violent coils streaked with gold and black. The force of it knocked everyone back, blinding light swallowing the courtyard. Engulfing us with a sudden warmth that wasn’t even known to mankind. I screamed, throwing my hands protectively to cover my eyes. Somewhere from behind, Lucian cursed. Auren staggered. Kael dropped to one knee.

The Silver Blessing hums beneath my skin, making me faster, sharper, the very air bending around me like a shield. The rogue lunges, claws extended for my throat. I drop low and slash upward. The blade only grazes its leg, but the reaction is apocalyptic. The dagger flares silver-bright—a searing, holy light that consumes the rogue in seconds. The air grows thick with the acrid stink of burning fur and bone as the beast collapses into a smouldering heap at my boots.

He went down screaming, the silver burning through his clothes and into his skin. I had trained for this. Three months of brutal instruction under Scarlett's watchful eye. Three months of learning to summon fire from my fingertips, to channel the ancient energy that flowed through my blood, to fight like the hybrid I was instead of the human I had pretended to be. But Scarlett wasn't here. I was alone.

“Gale Blade Storm!” The vortex condensed, transforming into countless wind swords. The blades rushed toward Danial with blinding speed, slicing through the air with deadly precision. Danial didn’t flinch. He pressed his hands downward, and the flames around him surged. The fire turned from a bright orange to a deep reddish hue, its intensity increasing significantly. The heat in the arena became unbearable, forcing many spectators to shield their faces. The wind blades collided with the fire, but instead of overpowering it, the fire’s sheer heat disintegrated them on contact. Tristan’s eyes widened as the remaining flames surged toward him. He braced himself, closing his eyes in resignation.

He stood at the foot of the bed like a grim reaper with gym biceps. “You have ten seconds before I drag you out myself.” “You touch me and I’m calling Child Protective Services.” “You’re eighteen.” “Exactly. Adult Protective Services, then.” Ethan didn’t respond. He simply walked off. I smiled to myself, victorious. Until— Splash. Ice-cold water. Straight to the face. “ETHAN, YOU FERAL GOBLIN!” I screamed as the world froze around me. My shirt was soaked. My hair? A wet mop. He stood there, holding a half-empty water bottle with the smugness of a man who’d just watched the world burn and called it art.

The courtyard fractured, dust rising in choking plumes. Lyandra's soldiers froze mid-advance, their bodies writhing as the golden-black flames burned over them, purifying and consuming at once. Some survived only because Raven’s chaotic focus refused to fully release its wrath.
