The fabric slipped from my fingers, pooling on the table like spilled ink.
Gregor stood silently, his expression neutral but attentive.
I trusted him more than most. Still, trust was a relative term in my world.
“Sit,” I ordered, gesturing to the chair in the room.
He obeyed, his large frame settling into the chair.
“Tell me, Gregor,” I began, my tone casual. “What do you think of Luca?”
Gregor’s brow furrowed slightly, but he didn’t look away. “He’s a strong Beta,” he admitted. “Respected by his pack. Feared by his enemies.”
