A shadow leaned out through the hatch. Tessy watched them with detached fascination, her coat snapping violently in the wind. “You always did have a flair for drama, Grey. Even as a child.” Grey looked up, rain stinging his eyes. “You don’t get to claim me.” Tessy smiled thinly. “Blood claims itself.”

He moved a little further into the room, his eyes scanning everything once, quick, sharp, calculating, before settling on me. “So what do you think it is?” he asked. I didn’t answer. Not yet. Because the answer wasn’t simple. Because even I wasn’t sure. Grey exhaled quietly, running a hand through his hair before continuing. “I don’t know,” he said. “Tell me, Drake. It can’t be a distraction for the rebels, you haven’t even declared her to the world as your wife.”

Harrison Grey was making his own plans, and Emily was beginning to realize that the "sickness" she felt wasn't just stress.
