The next day, my body felt weightless. The stomach pain that had been driving me insane was gone. I looked down and saw a body lying on the floor with a purple and blue face, as well as white foam and dark red blood crusted at the corners of the mouth. That was me. That was Layla Lloyd, as dead as a doornail. I floated in midair, staring at my own stiff corpse. It looked almost like a stranger. Now, the girl who had always kept her head down would never have to bow to anybody again.

The dirt was cold and rough against my back, leaves sticking to my skin. “You can scream all you want, hot stuff,” Griffin sneered, unzipping his trousers. “This is Bloodmoon. No one is coming to save you.” The sound of his zipper made bile rise in my throat. My body shook uncontrollably. I could smell him—sweat, alcohol, blood. It made me want to gag. My chest heaved with even more fear and panic clawing through me until I thought I’d choke on it. “So fucking clean,” he muttered as he crouched before me. His eyes burned with lust when they met with my exposed thighs.

She opens the book and a roach crawls out. I shriek, jerking my knees to my chest. Esme raises a brow. “You’re a wolf, and you’re scared of a roach?” “What’s a wolf without a wolf?” My smile is bittersweet. “Don’t do that,” she scolds. “You wolf will return. Now, when the rumours came, I consulted the books and some friends.” I try not to let my own thoughts scare me. “What did you find?” “You know, I’ve lived through almost seven decades, and I know a bloodline that had white hair. Moonblood.”

He lunges, the blade slicing through the air, aimed at my chest, just above my right breast. I recoil, anticipating the agony. The knife bites deep, and I wince my vision blurring. My blood spills, warm and crimson, sliding down my torso. Denzel's eyes gleam with sadistic pleasure. With a twisted grin, he slits open his own rotting hand, revealing festering flesh. He presses his wounded hand against mine, mingling our skin. I scream as my blood blends with his skin, feeling an eerie presence invade my body. It's as if dark entities are awakening within me.

Another board has fallen off the broken window that adorns the front, and it looks like the hellhound, Grim, has trampled over the wild garden flowers that were just starting to grow again. Speaking of Grim. Crimson eyes blinked into the night. They roamed over every inch of the darkness before settling on her like a compass seeking true north. Her favourite little demon spawn emitted a growl into the night, making hot embers glow as he bared his teeth to them.

She was a tall girl in her mid-twenties whom Ricky had fallen for. Roman saw the killer's back but as soon as he turned around in Ricky's memory, the image became blurry. Roman was tired and couldn't concentrate. All he could catch was a tattoo of the grim reaper on the killer's backhand. This was just before he phased into a light grey wolf with yellow glowing eyes. Roman came out of the kid's head and almost fell down on the floor. "Alpha!" "Roman!" In a flash, Klaus and Jaxson held up their Alpha before he hit the floor.

I search the darkness, trying to find them, but there’s nothing. Then I hear a muffled little yelp of pain. I run in that direction, and clap my hand over my mouth to stop myself from screaming. Abbadon is crouching in the darkness, holding the little girl up to his mouth, slurping blood from her neck. I can smell her blood and fear…and the approach of death. I can’t let him do this. “Stop,” I scream and lift the spell. “You’re killing her!” Abbadon throws back his head and hisses. His teeth are red with blood, and his eyes have gone from blue to black. “Maya,” he growls. “I knew I smelled you.”

Shawn said, trying to wake Adam up. Instead of waking up, Adam laughed. Next, he patted Shawn's cheek instead. "Out all of the people, Shawn, I never thought you would be the most innocent," Adam said, and when he saw Shawn's expression harden, Adam quickly added, "Not this way. I told someone to sabotage my father's room and record his lewd actions with that bitch! And...." Adam spread his arms, looked up, and laughed as he said, "I'm going to spread it all over the world."

Blight, Ryker’s Gamma, steps forward with a grin on his face. He’s dressed in all black like me, with blackout tattoos covering his neck and arms. Short cropped blonde hair, grey eyes, tall but muscular; I’ve heard tales about this Gamma that rival my own. He has a penchant for killing humans in the most gruesome ways, and his favorite weapon is a JagdKommando knife; the deadliest of blades as it has three edges that spiral together like a corkscrew into a sharp tip. No doctor can sew up a wound left by this knife.

Just the storm outside and the low growl of a blacked-out SUV idling at the emergency entrance. Rain lashed the windows as we climbed the coast road. The university gates appeared through the downpour—wrought iron twisted into roses and bats, glowing faintly crimson against the black cliffs. Beyond them, BludHeaven rose like a cathedral someone had carved out of midnight: spires, arched windows, stone walls that looked old enough to remember when vampires still ruled the night unchallenged. The driver glanced at me in the rearview mirror. “Welcome to BludHeaven, Nico Black. Try not to die on the first night. The queens hate when their new toys break too soon.”
